doesn't it seem like this ACORN "scandal" is a trick
I get the feeling that the RNC (aka the GOP) is framing them, in order to invalidate votes.

It's just kind of odd.

I had never heard of ACORN in my life. But for the last six months or so, I've been getting emails about them.

Now, suddenly, they are at the center of the first ever "election fraud" media event in history.

Doesn't it seem to be an obvious trick? I don't think the ACORN people would be so dumb. And the media never cared about election fraud before.

3. I think it's an excuse to cause long lines at highly Democratic polling stations
Even if they don't manage to get people's votes disallowed, or made 'provisional', just tying up the officials on the day in very Democratic precincts, in a swing state, might be enough to cause long lines, which will discourage voters.

4. The GOP seems to have larger motives
They've devoted a lot of effort in the final months here to slandering ACORN.

5. Ill be blunt. The left needs to stop defending ACORN and stop talking about ACORN

They have a long, long, long history and the right-wing will easily keep diggin into them.

THey are deeply tied to housing stuff and it's absolutely a trap to derail serious discussion with an emphasis on an easily beat up lefty activist group.

STOP DEFENDING THEM.

ACORN can take care of themselves and we need to move the hell onwards.

Even the APPEARANCE of registration or election foul play = we respond like we would if it was a Republican group.

We demand investigation, temper judgment and say it's very serious that americans have a clean election.

MOVE ON, literally. :-)

6. They're gonna say that they've skewed voter ID with their antics....

...which is why there is the perception of there being more registered Democrats, making it feasible that Obama can be up by more than 5% in the polls come election day and still lose.

It's no coincidence that they're only making a big issue of it now that McTitanic is en route to a calamitous defeat.
