Obama should maybe meet those who fear him
Seriously, I'd like to see some of these folks, who have been influenced by all these chain email campaigns and nasty rhetoric in a meeting with Obama, where they could ask him, face to face, "Are you a muslim terrorist? Will you send our tax money to terrorists? Will you use our nuclear arsenal against us? Are you a communist?"

It would be fun to see them interviewed before and after.

I would bet they'd all say "Well, maybe we're wrong after all... he was such a nice man... I don't think he is everything they say".

I would also bet you Barack would have the guts to meet these people but would they have the guts to meet him?

3. With secret service detail ...
And a small group, like 10, a sample of bible thumpers, NRA guys and concerned church lady.

2. So they can shoot at him? No thanks.
Those people are unreachable--we're only gonna reach those who WANT to be reached.

6. Well, he DID go on O'Reilly's show
And to Saddleback. He seems more willing than any Democratic candidate in recent history to go into "unfriendly" territory and I surmise that it has worked out well for him in general. He's shown up at every debate and exceeded expectations both times (and will a third I'm sure) despite the pundits claiming that he was at some kind of disadvantage in both debates for one reason or another. I'm not quite sure what more he can do to help make people less "frightened" of him (I honestly don't know what kind of awful things people think he's going to do to us if elected- universal healthcare, less war, better economy?) although I imagine that some people are simply too far gone mentally/emotionally or have been so thoroughly brainwashed by Fox News that NOBODY is capable of reaching them.

15. That was a great thing, btw, since McCain/Palin won't go on MSNBC

So, O'Reilly viewers have seen that, yes, Senator Obama is a normal decent person.

A lot of the "I'm afraid of Obama" people change their minds through the simple act of getting some exposure to him.

16. And O'Reilly warmed up to him...
When Obama is elected, expect O'Reilly to be a little warmer to the news than Druggie and Slant Head.

At least O'Reilly respects him now and said several times that "if you think that Obama is stupid, you are wrong" (or something like that).

It's when people don't talk to each other that they start hating each other.

11. That would be a beginning.
I do believe racism exists. And bigotry. I suffered from it circa 2003. If you remember the cheese eating surrender monkey thing.

10. He did meet one - he told the story at the rallies here in Philly
Supposedly an owner of a pie shop (I think in Wisconsin) who was a rabid repuke. And he said that since the guy didn't sell sweet potato pie, he bought a coconut custard from him and asked him how business was. And the guy said that things were pretty bad. And then he said he asked the guy who did he think was at fault and the guy responded "I guess the Republicans"... and of course you can imagine where it went from there. :P

I know I may have some of the little details left out but there probably will be YouTubes of the 4 rallies (and I'm sure he told the same story at each one).

These types of people have been forced by society to hold their tongue when in the presence of the person who they had just vilified... But if McPalin keeps riling them up, they WILL say it to his face.

13. You are likely correct. Remember that video of that one freeper idiot holding the...
stuffed toy monkey with the Obama bumper sticker suddenly trying to get out of it when he saw he was being filmed.

17. I think that's why he swung thru southern Ohio last week.
I'm sure he'll be back through again. Once you break people of the Republican habit, it's hard for the loonies to rope them in again.
