McCain says: "is...[Bin] Laden really the bad guy that's depicted?"
"McCain: You could say, Look, is this guy, Laden, really the bad guy that's depicted? Most of us have never heard of him before. And where there is a parallel with Vietnam is: What's plan B? What do we do next? We sent our troops into Vietnam to protect the bases. Lyndon Johnson said, Only to protect the bases. Next thing you know....Well, we've declared to the terrorists that we're going to strike them wherever they live. That's fine. But what's next? That's where there might be some comparison."

4. Bin Laden...
Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 08:45 PM by Poseidan
Let's be perfectly frank. If Bin Laden (no comment), moves to Moscow, we will not attack Russia. Invading or attacking Russia is absolute suicide. Not only do they have exceptional defensive positioning, they also have 10-20,000 nuclear weapons. Besides, Russia should not be our enemy. My ancestors are Russian, and I just finished a gallon of Stoli. Has anyone read War and Peace? Obviously, Napoleon is the enemy (although, I am from New Orleans, born on Bastille day, and love French cuisine). What i'm trying to say is, U.S. policy is asinine, when dictated by asses.

(nothing against donkeys... the GOP disgraces true Elephants, which are artistic creatures of nobility, something the Republican party despises in favor of stupid ignorance)

5. "Is this guy, Laden really the bad guy that's depicted?" Laden? LADEN? Who is Laden?
Since when do you drop off part of a last name and make the "evil terrorist" into someone else, someone less threatening?

6. This should be Topic A in next round of Obama ad buys.
Unless there is some question about the authenticity of the quote, it is as dramatic an example of McCain's abysmal judgment as is likely to come along: He felt Osama was being unfairly depicted.... in *1998*!

M$M will ignore it if allowed to; ( The same quote would END Obama.) The DEMS can keep it from being swept under the rug by the RW media by featuring it in ad buys and by havng the DEM nominees speaking to the issue directly.

BTW: the issue is McCain's consistently abysmal judgement on life-death isses.
