The crowds at the McCain events are going over the edge. The have a spectacular machinery to get their talking points out but the dirty work is supposed to be done by the machine (talk radio/Drudge/Fox/MSM) but they have lost control of the rudder. These crowds are expecting McCain to say the things they hear everyday (like going to see a band do their biggest hit) and when he doesn't they get upset.

Also conservatism is dissolving in front of our eyes. All the bailout and even McCain LATEST economic plan (2 this week) smells of the New Deal. They have served their sponsors well for the last 30 years trying to overturn and erase the memory of the New Deal. Going as far as trying to replace FDR on the dime with Reagan and other nonsense. Now they have no other options than what works and is popular.

While it's probably different (but equally passionate), I do share your anger, even though my body parts are not black.
I can't say that it's "conservatism" in and of itself, that is the bad guy. What I find disturbing is that the things these (and others) are saying go beyond political ideology, even though it's couched as such, and it is this subtext that is so disturbing. I was just as livid when more liberal Democrats did the same thing (or at least tried to leverage it).

I disagree with their political positions with the civil respect due a civil opposing view, but I am livid about the promotion of hatred and division. The things being said and integrated as part of partisan politics is something altogether different, and takes things to a whole 'nother level.
