I am very proud of Chris. He is pounding hard on the use of Obama's given middle name - a name he had no choice in making.

2. There's nothing wrong with the name 'Hussein'...

it's how it's being used. And I do hope that sheriff in FL loses his job.

Tweety does seem fed up. Along with Letterman and Stewart... I think those two have had it.

4. He was all over Buchanan yesterday.
Buchanan wouldn't answer the question. "Do you think this is about making him sound like a foreigner?" Kept laughing and making excuses. As pathetic as I've ever seen Pat act.

6. His middle name is being used as one more "dog whistle".
When they use it, they are reminding their klan that he is one of them black MOOSLIMS, one of the "mud people".

8. I detest what they're doing, but if it hadn't been for Saddam, the guy we were all taught
to HATE because he was PURE EVIL, Barack's middle name wouldn't be such a reminder.

7. I was happy to hear this, too. But I have a bone to pick with Matthews on something else

he just said:

He was speaking to a pro-McCain guest (I forget who, now...) who brought up the argument that Obama had never done "anything hard" in his life, and Matthews agreed, saying (I'm paraphrasing all of this, mind you) that was a very valid question. I got the impression that Matthews doesn't seem to think Obama has done anything "hard" (as opposed to McCain, I guess), but until they re-air the show, I can't say that definitively.

It was surprising to me, however, that anyone would think that Obama has never done anything hard in his life... that's just nuts! Not only has he done things that are difficult by any standard, he's been successful in doing so - which is even more impressive. He's done so without coattails, and against all odds stacked against him.

I am very happy, though, that Matthews spoke so adamantly about the middle name issue, especially since he's been gleeful (seemingly) in bringing up the question of Obama's "exotic-ness" at every turn, as if it's reasonable or valid that the voters might be wondering about. It's kind of the same thing as saying Obama's middle name without actually saying it. Even if he's not doing so to support his own agenda, he's been keeping it in the forefront more than anyone, and that has bugged me too.

I hope this means he'll think of a new question to repeat.

Matthews isn't particularly interesting, in my view, but I really dislike it when he makes his sweepingly broad generalities, stereotyping people - regionally or ethnically or otherwise - on such a purely personally subjective level - categorizing people, stating how they will or will not think, vote, act or behave. I'm surprised every time he does this and I don't like it.

10. Wish he would talk about the Palins' connection to radical right A I Party
Seems like he just harps over and over repeating the inflammatory McCain/Palin rhetoric when it might help more if he would expose the Palin support and connection to extremist right wing separatists.
