Just for fun, I googled the phrase "should have nominated Romney"
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 04:54 PM by Bicoastal
It got 72 hits.

Next I googled "should have nominated Huckabee"--33 hits, not quite as good, but still pretty compelling.

And then, "should have nominated Ron Paul"-- 270 hits! Wow!!

Finally, I googled "glad we nominated McCain."

1 single hit.

From a Democratic Blog.

The sentence: "I don't think I've ever heard someone say "Wow, I'm glad we nominated McCain."

After Nov 5th the Republicans are going to get their knives out and slice and dice McCain into mince meat as they rush to take over.

14. If they had nominated Romney it would have been an annihilation IMO....much worse then McCain
is looking at. Even when I was pessimistic about Obama's chances I never doubted that he would have slaughtered Romney. Now that doesn't mean that Romney won't be the nominee for the GOP in 2012. But I do think that he would have been a much weaker candidate for the Republicans to run in 2008.
