Connecticut Gay Marriage - nobody seems to care
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 03:50 PM by liberalpragmatist
... and I mean that in the very best way.

Seriously. Maybe it's just the fact that, oh, the economy's collapsing right now. But I think something bigger is going on. Simply put, the CT court ruling is hardly making waves. The news media is totally ignoring it. It has made barely a ripple.

Now, the ruling only came today. So it could get much more attention. But I think this is a sign that people realize something important: gay marriage will not bring about the end of the world. Nobody cares.

7. That's about right - about the same as Bush's base.

3. When the sky didn't fall on Mass., people stopped caring.
Robertson et al. are still waiting for the asteroid to fall on Boston. Tick tick tick tick

5. Funny how that works. Somehow when you have something real to worry about,
gay marriage isn't such a threat!

6. Some bottom dwellers on my local TV station blog were having hysterics about it
but even they sounded like the whimpers of defeat. It's hard to get all upset about somebody else getting married when your retirement is disappearing.
