The McCain Camp On The Anger At Their Rallies: It's All Obama's fault
No, I'm not kidding: http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/10/10/1529529.aspx

From NBC's Mark Murray
Earlier today, Obama remarked on recent outbursts of "Traitor!" "Terrorist!" and "Kill him!" at McCain campaign events. "It's easy to rile up a crowd," Obama said. "Nothing's easier than riling up a crowd by stoking anger and division. But that's not what we need right now in the United States."

In response, McCain senior adviser Nicolle Wallace released this statement, NBC's Kelly O'Donnell reports. "Barack Obama's assault on our supporters is insulting and unsurprising. These are the same people obama called 'bitter' and attacked for 'clinging to guns' and faith. He fails to understand that people are angry at corrupt practices in Washington and Wall Street and he fails to understand that America's working families are not 'clinging' to anything other than the sincere hope that Washington will be reformed from top to bottom."

"Attacking our supporters is a new low for the campaign that's run more millions of dollars of negative ads than any other in history."

*** UPDATE *** McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers adds in another statement: “Barack Obama’s attacks on Americans who support John McCain reveal far more about him than they do about John McCain. It is clear that Barack Obama just doesn’t understand regular people and the issues they care about. He dismisses hardworking middle class Americans as clinging to guns and religion, while at the same time attacking average Americans at McCain rallies who are angry at Washington, Wall Street and the status quo."

3. I was about to post this. I think the McCain camp has actually lost its mind. Exactly where..
did Obama do anything like attack their supporters. The McCain camp has crossed several ethical lines lately, but this is especially bad.

30. I've been thinking that for the past few days.
How does Bridget view all of this? Her father's supporters view Obama (the child of a natural born American citizen) as 'foreign' and as a 'terrorist'. What message is McCain sending this young woman that comes from an Islamic country; she's physically everything that the GOP supporters are rallying against. This is the second time the McCains have thrown that girl under the bus to advance McCain's stagnant career. I hope someone brings it up in the MSM because the McCains must be forced to acknowledge their hateful rallying.

All I can say is I hope more Republicans come forward to denounce the shit going down at McHate rallies.

One more thing...fuck you, John Sidney McCain III, and fuck you Sarah Louise Heath Palin.

12. And McSame's 'base' shrinks to the violent radical right
Every time those idiots yell out, it loses McSame votes with moderates that want NO PART of political violence.

I say, keep it up, assholes. You are destroying your candidate.

I hope they actually start a riot at one of McSame's revival meetings. It will destroy not only any chance of his to get elected, it will fracture the Republican Party into pieces.

32. Yes, and if those words were from an Obama crowd aimed at McCain
the storm-troopers would corral, pepper spray, take names, put them in a terrorist data base, knock some down, make arrests, all in the name of 'conspiracy to riot', tampering with a Federal election, and threatening the life of a United States Senator and possibly the life of a future United States President.

All of the media, all elected officials, all of America would be alarmed, angry, and very, very vocal - calling out and shaming the Obama campaign for inciting and instigating against McCain.

That's just how it is in these United States. Sad as it is.

27. Good lord, these people think they can just create their own reality!
Yes, it's all Obama's fault that your crowds are looking more and more like lynching mobs, that thinking conservatives of all stripes are coming out against the McCain/Palin smear campaign, and that Obama has had to start issuing negative ads because McCain is putting out attack ads that are complete and utter lies. Hate is a really strong word, but this Rovian campaign is not endearing itself to me or most of the thinking people in the country.

28. Wow ! Knowingly twisting his words to be directed at voters and not the McLame team itself !
That Nicole Wallace is shameless.

She just brazenly twisted his words and the news just reported it lah dee dah. While her twisting those is further stoking those same fires !

That is really astounding hate mongering. To defend your team by pretending the opponent is attacking the people, when you know he's directed his criticism where it belongs, to the McShame campaign team run by Rove's disciple, Steve Schmidt, known for dirty political tricks--

thereby adding one more slash to your team's destructive approach to promoting their candidate who has no issues whatsoever to run on.

Just Hate. That's all they've got.

Someone suggested it is now The Hate Talk Express.

37. I've been thinking about this some more since I first read it. I think they are TRYING to provoke.
They are trying to provoke a response from Obama, trying to make him lose his famous cool, make him react in anger. That way, they can use the "angry black man" stereotype to say, "See? We told you he's dangerous!"

Too bad for them that he's too smart to fall for such a tactic.
