I am Really Concerned what the other side will do When Obama Wins
The anger that is boiling and ready to erupt. really is scary. We all know what it feels like when our candidate does not win/take office. These whiners have been spoiled for 8 years. The hatred towards Obama is so DEEP what will happen when he wins? I fear for Obama and his safety but I also fear for people like me and other Obama supporters. These people are crazy and they really believe Obama is a terrorist and so on. Anyone else here excited but also terrified what might happen come November 5th?

I look forward to it and might make a few citizen's arrests myself (I have F.B.I. as my immediate family members).

Thanks for your concern, anyway. :eyes:

8. I hope they try something. I really do.
I'd like them to discover, first hand, how horribly wrong they were when they characterized liberals as a pack of weenies who don't believe in guns or self-defense.

In all seriousness, though, the odds of Repukes rioting on behalf of McCain are even lower than the odds that Democrats would have rioted on Gore's behalf in 2000.

36. They probably wouldn't riot on behalf of McCain,
but Palin, their "annointed one," is a whole other story. It's the whackjob fundie Palin supporters who are the problem, NOT the McCain supporters...assuming there still are any McCain supporters.

I think most of these people will crawl back into their trailer parks and condos if he wins, depressed.

There will be a wave of hate crime, vandalism, etc. That would remain for a long time.

Likewise, Obama's security would be a serious matter.

But that's not new.

The bigger issue is that we're looking at a major economic "era" with a lot of angry people. That makes it much more dangerous long-term.

13. It's like lancing a boil on America's butt

A little painful and ugly, but you have to draw out the infection to deal with it.

As mentioned upthread, decent people of all stripes are going to come to grips with the fact that hate is neither patriotic nor a family value.

Smoking it out into the open is a step in that process.

17. My ANGER at them is a big part of my motivation to vote for Obama
I'm ANGRY about Florida in 2000

I'm ANGRY about Enron

I'm ANGRY about the manipulation of the energy markets to remove Gray Davis

I'm ANGRY at Al Quaida for attacking America on 9-11, and I'm PISSED OFF that Osama Bin Laden hasn't been stuffed and mounted in a display case at "Ground Zero"

I'm ANGRY about being deceived into going to war in Iraq, and thousands of Americans dying for WMDs that weren't there and a stable government in a nation I don't give a damn about, to bring stability to neighboring nations I don't give a damn about

I'm ANGRY that more decent Americans die from lack of decent medical care than terrorism, but there's a war on terror, and not a war for medical care.

I'm ANGRY that I have to hear those bastards bray about Ayers, while Sarah Failin' is married to a secessionist, and John McSame gets a pass for his friendship with David Ifshin

I'm ANGRY we opened a concentration camp in Cuba

I'm ANGRY that I have to hear about lies told by FAUX, Limbaugh, Savage, Boortz, Ingraham, Miller, Beck, Hannity, BillO, et. al., but it's still somehow all about a "liberal media"

I'm ANGRY about being lectured about family values by a man who cheated on wife 1, married a beer heiress half his age, and who belongs to the party that brought us Larry Craig, Mark Foley, and others.

There's more, but I've taken up enough time here.

Do you really think this scenario is not plausible considering the angry McCain supporters at his rally's? Do you think I am over reacting? Do you think this concern is somehow a dig towards Obama? Explain to me why you are "Very Bothered".

I may be afraid for the next 8 years. And it doesn't feel good.

A Republican co-worker pointed out that plenty of us reveled in the idea of Bush getting killed. I guess turn-about is fair play.

I'm just not comfortable when it gets screamed at rallies.

33. Report anyone you hear/read make threats or hateful racist remarks about Obama
Just scan the right-wing blogs every now and then and if you see any threatening or hateful racist remarks about Obama forward them to the Secret Service. Those right-wing blogs have become forums for radicals and racists and the Secret Service will shut down any that carry threatening posts.

38. I expect Clinton Redux.
For some bizarre reason, GOP supporters think they have a Divine Right to run the U.S. government. To some of them, a Democratic President can only get into power thru the direct intervention of Satan. (As an atheist, I'm speaking metaphorically here, in the terms in which these asshats think--to use the word very loosely...)

Obama's "honeymoon" will be just like Clinton's, lasting about 23 hours before the screeching, relentless attacks start on everything he does.

Even foreign crackpots like Ambrose Evans-Pickard will probably slither back into the country, armed with new book deals from Regnery Publishing. That guy always made me nostalgic for the Alien & Sedition Act of 1798...

Hopefully, a Democratic majority in Congress will stop the GOPpers from creating any bullshit investigating committees or Special Counsels.

I just hope (but doubt) that the Dems learned a lesson from the whole Linda Tripp thing. They let this disgruntled, troublemaking kook hang around the White House for months, even though she was already known for trying to peddle gossip about the outgoing Bushies.

I remember an interview with a Clinton staffer who said they needed Tripp at first, "because we didn't even know where the light switches were in the White House."

That made my jaw drop.

My advice would be to clean out the White House staff from top to bottom on January 21. I guess most of them are civil service and can't be fired. But any potential Tripps need to be given a nice, new job. Maybe working with the Dept. of the Interior on counting the remaining bears in Alaska, or monitoring activity at the fish hatcheries.

at the moment Senator Obama is at the center of that... but this election isn't about HIM, is it?
