Each section has a minimum of 200, so at the time she took it with just the Math and Verbal sections the minimum she could have scored is 400. The median of scores is in the low 500s for each section.

I was following the same system I believe as Palin. The SAT system that she and I took has changed since 5 years ago.

So if you just signed your name you automatically got 200 points. If you were a minority, it was rumored you get more on a scale. Asians get the least extra, Hispanics/Blacks get the next highest, and Native Americans get higher extra points. But that's not by a lot. More like 20 or so points or something.

It's nothing to get excited about, but it's really the lower end of the center mass. I took the SATs in the same time frame as Palin, so I'm familiar with the scoring curve in place at the time.

Were your combined SAT's divisible by ten? My bet is, if you took them when or after I did, that they are. And my point is that, in 1981, they always WOULD have been.

SAT scores back then were listed as multiples of 10. I know from personal experience, and anyone can look it up.

Palin's not ignorant but she's let that "charm" work for her in rural Alaska where there's not near as many women competing for political office.

She's playing in The Big Leagues now and her ineptness is shining through.

This is more evidence to counter the claim that "Palin's a quick study."

I hope that she fades into political obscurity.

The Good People of Alaska deserve MUCH BETTER. :-)
