Saga of the Republican Boss

I have posted about my manager here before. Three months ago he was all grins as he ribbed me about supporting Obama. Even then he admitted to me that he and I are very similar in our beliefs (i.e. he's not a "social" or "fundamentalist" Republican) but that he just can't stomach the higher taxes of Democrats. Yadda yadda yadda.

2 months ago: He still wanted to talk about it.

After Palin was selected, he and I had our last real discussion about it. The Monday after that weekend, I said, "Well you know about this Troopergate thing right, she tried to get someone fired?" He said, "Well I can support..." I cut him off, "Raw abuse of power?" He said, "No, no, I mean I can support someone doing what they believe is right..."

I said to him then, "You and I just need to stop talking politics, because we will never agree on anything."

While I was on vacation for 12 days overseas, I got an email from him that said, "Thought you might find this interesting." It was a link to a positive review of the iPhone Obama '08 application. I went and downloaded it on my iPhone.

Today I just got back and he just admitted on our way to lunch that he might not vote for McCain. Then when I started talking about all the screwups these past few weeks he cut me off, "I don't really want to talk about it."

He's coming around. Will report back when there's more. :)
