I hope Colin Powell endorces Obama soon...
Not that I don't hold him immensely responsible for lying to the UN and ensuring the invasion of Iraq...

Not that I like the guy much at all or really care about his opinion...

But he's virtually the only Black man that the GOP has a measure of respect for. If he endorsed and defended Obama, perhaps some of the hate and overt racism in the McCain camp would stop, or at least abate a little.

Maybe.

1. I don't think he will although he's all but endorsed Obama's foreign policy plans
by defending them publicly.

However, it's clear he would rather endorse Obama than McCain, but yes, it would be nice if Powell would publicly say he supports Obama as candidate.

2. What about his cover up of the My Lai massacre
and designing "don't ask, don't tell" as he refused to let Clinton keep his promise about letting gays serve openly in the military?

What about his lending credence to the stolen election of 2000 by staying with Bush at his Crawford ranch?

What about his son trying to allow more media consolidation, even as Colin held a huge number of AOL/Time Warner shares?

Just say thanks, but no thanks, to Mr. Powell. IMO, he has no integrity.

4. You obviously didn't read what I wrote underneath.
His endorsement might be a means to an end.

5. Yes, I did read it.
I just want the Democrats to steer clear of Powell and his associations.

3. Colin Powell is a character witness for Ted Stevens today.
He's standing up at his trial, letting the jury know what a great guy Stevens is.

I could care less if he endorsed Obama. In fact, I don't want him to.

6. I can't imagine Powell ever doing such a thing
I think he still considers himself a statesman who is above the political fray even given his positions (and egregious acts) in Republican administrations. Obama doesn't need his endorsement and I'm sure Powell respects him for what he has accomplished based on who he is and his vision for the country rather than who does or does not support him.
