O'Reilly Wants To Know Who's Paying Obama Girl
O’Reilly got red faced when he couldn’t get FOX internet cop Amanda Carpenter to say that the Obama campaign or surrogates were backing youtube sensation “Obama Girl” who recently offered a satirical look at Sarah Palin posted on Barely Political. 10/8/08

Twice O’Reilly asked Carpenter who paid for the TV productions, insinuating that because it may have helped the Obama campaign it was paid for by the campaign, which is obviously not true. If you check out the website, it’s more about funny videos with men in bear suits and chicks in bikinis, well mostly chicks in bikinis, in various satirical comedy sketches.

Nice try O’Reilly, but this one, while clearly making fun of the Republican presidential ticket, has no connection to the Obama campaign. It’s just plain funny.

5. O'Reilly's funding source
was installing radar installations in Iraq for the Chinese in 2001 ... B.S. O'Reilly doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to "who is funding whom ..."

7. I live in Egypt, see loofahs and falafel every day...

And they ALWAYS remind me of a certain ham-headed TV blowhard.

Loofahs: every day I see guys standing on the side of the road, selling the natural loofahs that grow as a plant here. They are 3 to 4 feet (more than a meter) long. The Egyptians buy them, then cut them up into smaller pieces for home use.

Falafel: I love falafel. My job site is near an Egyptian village with a little food-shop that has great falafel. They serve it in cones of old newspaper, like the Brits with fish & chips. (Most falafel shops here serve it that way.) And for the same reason, the paper soaks up the excess grease from the deep frying.

I prefer the round pieces of falafel, not the flat kind used to make sandwiches. I love it straight out of the fryer, served with some local vegetables and a couple loaves of the native flatbread. My favorite village falafel shop bakes its bread in a huge old stone oven, apparently dating from the days of the Pharoahs. It's delicious.

(Usual Off-topic Nonsense: somebody recently wrote a huge book just on the subject of Egyptian bread. The authors identified more than 125 distinctive varieties, many of them unknown outside the neighborhoods where they are baked.)

Falafel has always reminded me of that Southern delicacy, the hush-puppy. Even though falafel (at least here) is made from white fava bean paste.

8. We had a pizza shop here
that cooked in an old stone oven and everything tasted so wonderfully good. It is no longer in business an I really miss the bread from there it was unique.
