Did Sarah Palin own a snow machine store?
Last night I heard something that has bugged me all night.

On the Rachel Maddow show they showed a clip of Sara Palin, in which she said she and Todd could identify with the average person and small business owners, because, and this is from recollection "her and Todd owned a snow machine business for three years".

Now, I seem to recall that she was only part owner of a car wash that never made any money. NOw, I might be wrong, but:

1. Did I hear it right?
2. Did they ever own a snow machine business?
3. Is this another example of her not being able to speak without telling a lie?

4. Wyoming, too.
In much of the intermountain West they're 'snow machines', especially is they're used for work and basic transportation. Tourists ride 'snowmobiles', workers ride 'snow machines'.

5. That is why it stood out to me.
She said that "here you call them snow mobiles, but we call them snow machines".

But I am still pretty certain that they never owned a snow machine/mobile store.

The reason why I am sure is because of the question of their taxes. Since they have made deductions for Todd's snow machine/mobile racing, the issue was whether it could be considered a business (the racing). Now, I am pretty sure that if they owned a snow machine/mobile store, the racing could be considered part of the business as in promotion.

Just curious, because it seems that she cannot make a speech without lying about something insignificant.

7. Not necessarily.
The racing is still a hobby, even if he had advertisements for his store on his snow MACHINE. He is separate from his business. I am thinking that even if he ran the snow machine business as a sole proprietor, the racing is separate. If he made money from racing, he has to declare that. But the racing itself would still be considered a hobby for tax purposes unless it provides a significant portion of his income.

6. Oh. When I hear 'snow machine', I think about the thing that blows snow
at ski resorts. Or maybe SnoBiz.

When Ski Doo starts calling it a snowmachine I will as well

"No one gives you more choices than Ski-Doo. That means we've got a snowmobile with just the right features, look and price for the way your ride."

8. Yes, they co-owned it with the man who she supposedly had the
affair with. Todd broke the business apart after the affair was discovered. All of this according to the National Enquirer!

9. Thank you.
I was just under the impression that they only had the car wash business.

Thanks for clearing that up.

10. Found it.
Todd and Brad Hanson owned a Polaris dealership. Broke it up because of Sarah Palin's affair with Brad Hanson.
