Here's my latest. Exactly 250 words of scorn. I've been informed it will be published in the paper on Sunday, the day before McCain's visit to Virginia Beach, or on Monday, the day of his visit.
Shame on you, McCain For a candidate who preaches his ability to bring people together and act as a bipartisan agent, Sen. McCain's campaign displays the exact opposite. Shame on you, Senator McCain, for allowing your surrogates to invoke Senator Obama's middle name in a bigoted attempt to inaccurately portray Senator Obama as a Muslim extremist. Shame on you, Senator McCain and your surrogates, for standing there idly, doing nothing, raising no objections, as members of your rally crowds openly shout remarks such as “terrorist”, “traitor”, and “kill him” in regards to Senator Obama. Shame on your campaign, Senator McCain, for trying to link the despicable actions of 1960s extremist Bill Ayers to Senator Obama merely because Senator Obama served on a bipartisan education reform board with Ayers nearly thirty years after Ayers' involvement with Weather Underground. When Senator Obama attacks the McCain campaign for being erratic and unhinged, it is because McCain's campaign has, over the last month, acted very erratic and unhinged. When Senator Obama attacks the McCain campaign for McCain's volatile temper and links McCain to Charles Keating, these are facts that are verifiable by many public records. Shame on you, Senator McCain. You have taken American Presidential Politics to a new low which blurs the line between campaigning and inciting hatred and bigotry. When you lose this November, Senator McCain, I hope, for the sake of America as a whole, you retire the Hate Talk Express for good. I can only hope the divisiveness generated from your campaign is repairable.
