It sounds like the base is going to be real disappointed if McCain doesn't hit Obama with Ayers in the next debate. They are really putting the pressure on for that exchange along with the ACORN thing.

Will McCain be pushed into this attack? And if he does, what will be Obama's response? I suspect it will be good!

42. Nice line
I think another direct way to attack it, now that McCain has gone to putting it in an ad is to make a very simple commercial. The other people on that board are very mainstream people, including a minister. Either having them all in a group - or a series of photos with their titles or credentials.

What if Obama challenged him to say it to his face before McCain could even get started?

"It" being Obama's rephrased version of the issue.

..Only if the poll numbers seem to get worse in response to these attacks.

If the attack is not changing the poll numbers then let McCain drown in his own attacks.

24. Obama should say: "John has been talking to his followers about this for many weeks. And yet John
and I have been together in these debate for those same many weeks and he has not brought these questions up to my face until now. If John really believed that these questions were related to the issues that are important to the American people, then why hasn't John brought this up before?

Maybe John now thinks that the American people don't care anymore about the economy. Maybe John now thinks that the American people don't care anymore about the value of their IRA and 401k accounts. Maybe John now thinks that the American people don't care anymore about losing their jobs. Maybe John now thinks that the American people don't care anymore about losing their homes. Maybe John now thinks that the American people don't care anymore about the cost or the availability of health care. Maybe John now thinks that the American people don't care about the cost of sending their kids to college. Maybe John now thinks that the American people don't care about the world they are leaving to their children. Well I care about all of those things. And I think the American people care about those things.

Maybe John is becoming fearful that he could lose this election because he has so little to offer the American people. All that John has to offer is the Campaign of Hate. I believe in a Campaign of Hope. A hope and a belief that we can work together and make America not just as great as this country has always been but even greater than anyone has yet imagined. Hope is better than hate. You know it. And I know it. And even John, late, late at night when he is finally being honest with himself, even John knows it.

That being said, John McCain is not only an un-American cock sucking piece of shit, he is an anti-American cock sucking piece of shit. The shit eating turd has no honor. The shit eating turd has no integrity. He lies more easily than most Americans wink. There is a special place in hell for John Sidney McCain III. Right next to his cock sucking anti-American ancestors.

(I might omit the last paragraph. But maybe not.)

26. Prejudices n the last graph or in the preceding ones?
In the last graph I was trying to offend McCain and his supporters as much as possible. I meant it to be satirical. I tamed it down from the first draft, but I probably deleted more genderless specific insults than I left in. The first draft of the last graph was almost as long as the entire damn post. And I thought the post was too damn long.

27. Let me try to be clinical.
Okay, two things stand out.

'Shit eating': This is a fairly universal taboo, which prevents lower GI parasites from taking over upper GI spaces.

'Cock sucking': This, OTOH, is a fairly common behavior in both men who have sex with men, women who have sex with men, and (using metaphorical and literal phalluses) women who have sex with women.

Speaking as a man, I have nothing against such behavior, in fact, I quite enjoy it.

Speaking as an advocate of GLBTQA (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans(gender|sexual), Queer, and Allies), I'd note that using 'Cock Sucker' in a derogatory fashion often is used to alienate, and isolate, that who 'suck' upon 'cock' as being "different" or "outsiders".

I would suggest that 'Cock sucking' not only be allowed in the DU tent, but embraced (and enjoyed) by it, to such an extent that such a phrase is no longer a (often homophobic) slur, but a compliment.

I really don't think McCain even likes all of this Ayers business. It was probably something the RNC made him do. He knows he's probably going to lose. 38. McCain is trying to twist it to be about Judgment...
Then make it about Judgment. Tell how his association with Bill Ayers was for the an organization that promoted education and this shows how Obama's judgment related towards achieving a stated Goal. Then frame that with Iran / NK Missle talks and then contrast McCain's judgment by his associating with Singlaub & Keating. Where the ayers association was for the Good of kids and the community McCains associations with these two men was for subverting the constitution through Iran Contra and protecting a crooked banker from oversight and regulation.

45. Isn't Obama denouncing what Ayers did in the past good enough?
And for crissakes, REPUBLICANS served with Ayers on these boards and none of them (surely knowing SOMETHING about his checkered past) didn't feel the need to remove themselves from those boards or demand Ayers' resignation from any of them AFAIK so why should there have been any reason for Obama to have done so? The hypocrisy exhibited by the Republicans in regards to Obama's association with Ayers is jaw-dropping, especially when you consider not only the behavior exhibited by the kind of company THEY keep but the kind of company they allow WITHIN THEIR OWN RANKS(Newt Gingrich, Tom DeLay, David Vitter, Mark Foley anybody?). Republicans are setting themselves up for an even greater "epic fail" if they want to keep playing this "guilt-by-association" game of theirs and so far, it's not even working very well for them.

This is nothing but an irrelevant distraction trotted out by a candidate -- er, I mean HACK -- who knows he cannot intelligently discuss the issues anymore. I daresay that right now most voters couldn't give a rat's shit about Bill Ayres.

54. First, he should pin McCain down. Make him tell him the evidence
that he is pals with Ayers. Then he should ask McCain if he's familiar with his own supporters the Annenbergs and talk about how they appointed Ayers to their board because he is now an expert in his field. If McCain doesn't STFU, he can inquire about McCain's associations with dubious groups and individuals and how he happened to select a VP candidate with ties to a secessionist group. If Rev. Wright is brought up he's got the witch doctor tape and Revs. Hagee, Roberts and Falwell to fall back on. Obama needs to preface the exchange by saying there are important problems in this nation today, so let's clear this up once and for all. After the exchange he should say, I now expect my opponent will be talking on the issues tomorrow and not engaging in Swiftboat tactics.
