GOP Frothing is Designed to Demoralize: Don't Let It
They are whipping up the base in order to make politics seem filthy and distasteful. They are trying to cut voter turnout. That's all this is. Don't let it happen. Stay upbeat and be out there.

We knew their final rush would be a whirlwind of mania. This stuff is mostly harmless, but it does serve to reduce enthusiasm among independents. Just stick with the plan. Let them froth and spew all they want. They are small and irrelevant. Stick with the plan.

Slow and steady. Keep going.

2. They're also radicalizing their base
The purpose of radicalizing their base is to insure their base remains active and agitates when they are out of power.

Sadly, they are forgetting that a radicalized base will always turn off the more moderate elements of the electorate.

But they are also in a position where losing the far right base means they don't exist.

3. The Method To Their Madness, Sir, Is This
They are trying to fuse the base into something that will stay cohesive after defeat.

They are going to try a dedicated campaign of sabotage against President Obama and the Democratic Congress.

To do this, they need a frothing, angry base of supporters, willing to regard the near Treason they will attempt as an act of high patriotism.

The natural consequence of defeat is unravelling of a coalition, and the Republican party is in fact a very odd patchwork coalition, in which the material interests of the mass elements are diametrically opposed to the interests on the guiding elite. Only the solvent of raging hate can hold the amalgam together in a lump, when it does not have actual governing power to provide the necessary adhesion.

4. It's also like leaving a bad situation
say an abusive partner or boss

things get worse before they get better; especially when they sense they are losing control and you (the collective us) might actually have a positive plan, since they know they can not compete with that. Happiness and success is very alienating to the reptiles.

Let them alienate themselves. Good riddance. Tres gargbage.

6. It won't get them any more votes, and they stand to turn off their own base in the meantime.
Poor tactic in the middle of a bad strategy.

7. Bottom line: It makes Obama look better
This is a social psychological fact, especially during times of national uncertainty. McCain's only resorting to it for lack of alternative substance and anything to lose. It's the loser's strategy, and it will seal his fate.

8. There Was A Guest On Tom Hartman That Said This Whole
Tactic was more about taking the numbers down for the election than it was for tearing down Obama.
