We really have to resolve this....
ACORN controversy right now or it will come back and bite us at the last minute, and in fact, might result in a challenged landslide win. I hope we have better lawyers than we did in 2004 because we know how that turned out! This needs to be pounced on immediately and either refuted or confirmed, and if confirmed, CORRECTED!

We have all worked so hard to register new Democratic voters and it will all be for naught if these fuckers (read Limbaugh) continue to hammer that it is fraudulent and opens the door for a repuke challenge of election results. Do not make the mistake of dismissing these RW assholes' claims that Obama and ACORN are joined at the hip!!

If ACORN fucked up...demand proof or admit it AND fix it now! We cannot allow SCOTUS to get involved again and decide this election. Maybe I am just paranoid but this really bothers me because, this is my last election, and I need to go out with a smile on my face after living through the last 8yrs.

1. ACORN did NOT fuck up
They are flagging suspect registrations before they send them to election officials. One thing a lot of people don't realize is that you HAVE to turn every registration form in that you get. This Nathan Sproul bullshit of throwing out registrations is ILLEGAL.

2. Obama's website

Barack Obama Never Organized with ACORN

Discredited Republican voter-suppression guru Ken Blackwell is attacking Barack Obama with naked lies about his supposed connection to ACORN.

• Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer.
• Fact: Barack was never an ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity.
• Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.

In his capacity as an attorney, Barack represented ACORN in a successful lawsuit alongside the U.S. Department of Justice against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. For his work helping enforce the law, called “Motor Voter,” Barack received the IVI-IPO Legal Eagle Award in 1995. (For more about Barack’s career, check out our Obama bio.)

Ken Blackwell is best known today for disenfranchising Democratic voters in his dual role as Ohio Secretary of State and chair of George Bush’s Ohio campaign in 2004. To see him shed crocodile tears for the integrity of the vote while making accusations about Barack and ACORN with absolutely no basis in fact is disturbing.

Blackwell’s attacks against ACORN and community organizers continue a vile Republican pattern of mockery and viciousness against this noble profession. Community organizers are the very individuals Republicans should be celebrating for helping people to help themselves rather than depending on the government.
