Where the fuck is the democratic leadership?
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 06:49 PM by Juche
McCain Palin rallies are turning into Klan meetings. They are taking the most radical, violent branch of the GOP and encouraging them to get angry and hateful. There is no way they can win with this strategy, it must be something else. Part of me seriously wonders if the goal is to push some McVeigh wannabe over the edge. Where the fuck are the leaders at?

Where the fuck are the leaders calling for censure? Why is Biden calling this behavior 'mildly' dangerous? Inciting racist, desperate wingnuts to be full of rage and hate against the first black president is not mildly dangerous.

Its too late to call today, but tomorrow I'm calling both my senators and my representative and asking them to censure or intervene.

1. To be fair, they are probably waiting for the lead from Obama.
We're extraordinarily united this year and I don't think any of the leaders want to be out of step or contrary to Obama's message.

18. Agree that Obama shouldn't address this directly, and maybe not even
Biden in his position, but the other Dems should be sounding an alarm. Maybe they're just waiting from the Obama campaign as to what they want the strategy to be.

22. Yes. I'm thinking they want to see how Obama wants them to handle this.
If Obama says it's OK for them to go... they'll hit the airwaves and rebut this shit.

But if Obama wants to be low-key and try to ignore this, I think they'll sit still.

Everyone's so nervous about this election. No one wants to make a mistake or jeopardizes our Presidential chances.

26. You're right - so much is at stake and there are several reactions that could
reflect poorly on our ticket.

Obama is lucky I'm not one of his advisors. I don't have the self-restraint to step back for a beat and consider the possible ramifications. His group is to be commended. They've acted wisely in every instance thus far.

5. Reid and Pelosi?
Mister "Well, you're going to filibuster anyway, so I won't bother to bring it to a vote" and Ms. "Impeachment is off the table"?

I hope the next Congress replaces this timid twosome. Maybe with Kucinich and Hillary.

But Howard Dean should get on the stick.

19. Russ Feingold for Senate Majority leader.
We can't let the DLC'ers run the next senate. The senators need to know that voting with the Repuke agenda is no longer acceptable.

The dems have a problem with not having any spine. This ties into that. They rolled over on election fraud and I worry they will roll over on this too.

13. The Democratic Leadership Is Doing The Right Thing!
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 07:04 PM by The Shadow
First, don't think for a minute that this kind of sleazy, racially under-toned, hate-filled attack will reverse the backslide that McSame's campaign is experiencing. All the people who are cheering McSame and the Baked Alaskan on were already voting for them anyway. This kind of attack, because of it's sleaziness, if anything will turn some voters towards Obama, not McSame.
To argue too loudly what those two ignorant fucks are doing only quantifies what they are saying and may possibly give voters reason to vote for them. By merely protesting the fact that they are lowbrow and potentially dangerous is fine, but anything else will fan the flames of stupidity. Besides, let MSM do their job (for once) to point out the sleaze factor of it all and so far other than faux news they are attacking McSame and Company just fine.

15. Here are my conerns
1. SOme wingnut blows Obama's brains out after hearing Palin and McCain call him a terrorist.

2. The McCain campaign pulls this 'terrorist' and 'who is the real Obama' until the end of the campaign. Going into the campaign Obama is ahead by 10% or more but the final tallied results show McCain winning by 1%. After that happens all the pundits will be saying "I guess the public decided Obama was too risky". Part of me wonders if this is an attempt to legitimize the eleciton fraud that we may face by using this and the Bradley effect.

20. My Concerns As Well
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 07:10 PM by The Shadow
That's why I say it is ok to point out the danger of this kind of incitement.
What really concerns me is the voter fraud campaign that has recently surfaced with ACORN and now this evening the voter purges of 10s of thousands of voters in key states. These issues must be argued LOUDLY and IMMEDIATELY!!!!

16. Where I hope the Democratic leadership is....
Is dealing with this wholesale election fraud bullshit that the Repukes are trying to pull off all over the country. I posted an electoral map here yesterday that certainly looked damn good, actually it was the makings of an electoral landslide......except that a lot of the potential margin of victory is based on the very states that the fascist pigs are pulling their scams in. THAT is where the party leadership needs to be focused.

Not that I'm excusing the nazi-like race baiting at these Repuke rallies by any means. I'm tempted to go to one myself, and crack a couple of skinhead skulls together.
