I just did some phone banking for Obama in PA tonight

And I had an interesting phone call with a 77 year old woman named Anna. She couldn't come to do GOTV activities because she is in a wheelchair but she said that she was "praying hard, each and every day for Obama." She really wanted to volunteer so I told her that I'd look into seeing if she could do calls from home. More importantly and what keeps going through my head tonight as I read all of these posts about the hate speech at rallies is that she also said, "That if anything happens to Obama, if he's assasinated, then the blood is on Palin's and McCain's Hands. They should be sent to jail." She repeated this several times and she was very emotional, very afraid for Obama's safety from all of those "nuts out there." It was so sad that they made her so upset, someone that should be more at peace now but great how anyone can just tell how what they are saying and doing is really crossing a line. She said that in all of her years she had never seen anything like it. They are calling him a terrorist for Chrissakes! I wish there was some criminal law that they were breaking but I guess they know just how far to go.

But she had her granddaughter right there. Considering her passion I doubt that nothing will stop her from voting. I tried to find the positive, saying how if they are going this low then they are desperate because they know they are losing but there really was no way to console her. Hatred sucks.
