When are the big newspapers going to endorse?

In 2004, I believe the NYT endorsed around Oct 15th. Same with the Chicago Tribune and the Boston Globe. I know that the conventional wisdom is that it makes no difference, but it provides some chatter on the talking head shows on cable. I think that the NYT should just do it now. It really is the big one.

2. They normally start endorsing toward mid and late October.

Expect them to start after next week's debate!

3. I assume after the last debate (15th)... and it's gonna be a bloodbath

The endorsements of Obama are going to be record breaking, i predict, unless something HORRIBLE happens in the next week.

Republicans are already jumping ship and trying to start frame themselves for the "what went wrong with the GOP" arguments, so many center-right leaning newspapers may actually swing Obama to stir up more heat

The war over the future of the GOP is starting... and i think newspapers will use endorsements to draw their lines in the sand against the social conservatives and culture warriors.
