Is this the way they will steal it?
I got this email from the McCain-Palin campaign in North Carolina. It is quite interesting that they do not mention early voting at all!

---
North Carolina Voter Registration Deadline is October 10th

Register to vote Click here to register to vote.

Our right to vote is one of the most important responsibilities we have as citizens of this great country. While many people might take this right for granted, much has been sacrificed for our democracy and it's up to us to exercise the right to vote.

The first step is to make sure you're registered to vote. Please visit this page right now and mail in your application before October 10th. If you're not going to be home on Election Day, please don't forget to request an absentee ballot by visiting this page.

It's easy:

1. Visit this page and print out your application.

2. Mail it to the address listed on the website before October 10th.

3. Vote on November 4th.
If you're not going to be home on November 4th, request an absentee ballot here.

---

Does this mean that they are going to try to manipulate the early voting totals? If they can shift the balance to more Obama by only voting absentee or on election day, then when they "rebalance" the totals, it does not look suspicious.

I will take my tin foil hat off now...

2. Republicans use lots of methods to disenfranchise Democrats, in that way
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 02:51 PM by Overseas
if one case is exposed, then Republicans and moderate Democrats can tell us that "oh, those few thousand votes won't change the outcome." and wave us aside like they did in 2004. We'd report on anomaly after anomaly and would be waved aside and told not to be conspiracy theorists. Only later does the truth emerge that the elections were indeed stolen.

Republican dribs and drabs method. Misdirect voters to the wrong polling places. Misdirect voters regarding voting procedures. Purge voting records as much as possible with minimum cross checking for errors. Post Republicans at polls in Democratic precincts to challenge voter registrations to slow down the process. ETC ETC.
