One of the most enjoyable things about this year's election will be watching the fireworks explode within the disgusting Republican Party over the choice they made by nominating McCain, who in turn chose Palin. I'll bet there are more than one or two moderate Republicans who are completely disgusted with the Religious Right because they wouldn't allow Romney to get chosen in their Primary, especially considering how Romney was much better on the economy than McCain is.

Some Republican heads are gonna roll, especially after this election is all over, and I want a front row seat when it happens.

1. Out here in Utah, I'm surrponded by Repubs who think Romney
should be the nominee. They're convinced he would have been some sort of fiscal Moses, and could walk up to the credit crisis and part it like the Red Sea, and lead the Nation of Isr--um, I mean, America to the Promised Land of full recovery.

Of course, the fact that most of the Repuke "base" hated Romney with a passion and wouldn't toss a line to a Mormon if he were drowning right in front of them...that's kind of ignored by the Utah Pukes. As is the pesky fact that Romney wouldn't know the first thing about "fixing" these global, intertwined credit markets. (1) They can't be "fixed," and (2) no one really understands all the intricacies, not even a venture capitalist from Boston--that just wasn't his gig.

2. I am going to say this again ...
This was McCain's pick, and only McCain's pick.

He NEVER was going to take Romney, and it had nothing to do with the religious right, and it had EVERYTHING to do with his ego. The disdain he has for BO now, he had the same kind of disdain for Romney, out of the gates. His ego is too big to let anyone with comparable stature on the ticket AND the Bushes and Rove were pushing Romney, which was the final nail for McCain, NO WAY was he going to take who the Bushes/Rove wanted.

He wanted Jomentum, who WOULD have blown up the party, more so because he was a DEMOCRAT than being a jew. I distinctly remember rightr before the pick, seeing a McCain fundie type rally in Ohio, and they ALL wanted Romney. It isn't about religion, it is about POLITICS, and they knew he was the best bet to get McCain the win.

When he got veteoed on Joementum, in a momenty of petulence and a viagra overdose, he picked Palin. Pawlenty was the compromise pick, the right loved that buckwheat just the same and there were any other number of fundies he could have taken, heck HUCKABEE, but again, his ego would not allow someone like Huck on the ticket with him.

Palin was ALL McCain, and it was ALL ego and horndogedness.

That simple.

3. WHY did they NOT nominate Romney....
... that's a serious question ...... I was watching footage of him from after the debate last night ...... I realize you have to have some substance and not JUST style, but the man looks like he walked out of central casting. Definately the best hair in the whole campaign, lol, even better than Sarah's!

If he were the nominee, Barack would have a lot harder time "looking" presidential. And that's a BIG deal.

4. Romney looked like a losing choice last spring,
when the main issue was "change," where only McCain could hope to stand up against Obama. Now, though, I'm certainly very glad that Mittens isn't anywhere on that ticket. We'd hear the term "turnaround" even more often than we're hearing "maverick."
