8. Geez!!!
That's a no-brainer. The "dirtiest" Obama has gone against McCain/Palin AFAIK has been the Keating 5 documentary, however I wouldn't exactly say that it is (or should be considered to be) "equivocal" in any way with the McCain/Palin strategy (tactic?) of attempting to "hang" the 60's radicalism of Bill Ayers and the Weather Underground around Obama's neck despite the fact that Obama did not personally participate in any of their illegal and/or controversial activities nor did he express support AFAIK for them. Not to mention the fact that a great number of people (including Republicans) have been exposed as having had at least SOME kind of contact or association with Bill Ayers in recent years, primarily working on important socially conscious community initiatives that few people would be ashamed to be associated with. Anyway, what does it take for somebody like Ayers to earn at least some level of redemption for his past misdeeds and does it not mean anything that he is no longer advocating support for his previous activities and certainly not engaging in similar activities himself? Furthermore, WHY should Obama have to explain his association with somebody who hosted a single campaign fundraiser for him over a decade ago and with whom he served on a few committees? Are we back to a McCarthyism-like atmosphere that supposes "guilt by association". Do the Republicans really want to go THERE???
Keating 5 was, at one time, a major news story/scandal that McCain was personally INVOLVED in and for which he has acknowledged some guilt/responsibility for even though he was never prosecuted or severely punished for his activities and AFAIK the information presented in the documentary was determined to be truthful, so I don't know how it could be considered "dirty". Also, Obama didn't unleash it until McCain started with the Ayers BS.
