10. Problem is
McPalin's incompetent campaign staff looks at something like this, believes it, and then hangs their hat on this state as a potential shoo-in. And thus we are cursed with their ilk running around here stirring up the KKK.

12. I think the Lehigh rally and the Flyer's puck-drop is the last you will
see of them.

They cannot stay on air in eastern PA. They're fucking broke, and there's no chance for them there.

They will stay on air with a trimmed down campaign in Pittsburgh and Erie in order to keep morale up and maybe salvage down-ticket races, but those ads will really be for eastern OH. Pennsylvania's a done deal.

13. They need to take the puck drop to the Penguins and leave the Flyers alone.
I agree that they can't continue although I think some of it is directed to S. Jersey and Delaware since we cover those markets. In fact, I actually find it ironic that they haven't campaigned in New Jersey, which has a long repuke history... But then these folks are definitely the dimmest bulbs in the pack.

I just don't like the idea of the shit-stirring that this would cause here in this city. Now is the time for all cities to batten down the hatches as the tsunami is coming and they don't have time to be forced to deal with McPalin foolishness.

15. NJ is finished before this began; DE is a NEVER
They were shooting for eastern PA, but it is a flop. They have to come down in those markets, since it is now just throwing good money after bad.

20. Plus its incredibly expensive
The Philly media market is one of the most expensive in the country because of the giant area and population it covers.

28. SE PA was never in any running
and the last repuke mayor in Philly went away in the mid-1950s. But this fact didn't stop the blockheads from fantasizing. A goodly number of repukes who used to live in Philly and it's 'burbs, moved to South Jersey in the '70s & '80s to coincide with the big Pine Barrens development craze, so there IS an infestation of "Dianne Allen Republicans" there. And I only mentioned DE because this market is basically a 3-fer (PA, NJ, DE, and a little of N. MD) for anyone advertising here.

She can dress up like all 4 Philly sports team mascots at once holding a Philly Rocks sign and the crowd will still boo her. Its going to take them an extra hour to get into the game because of Secuirty politics aside. Polite has never been in our vocabulary.

30. I am a 5th generation Philadelphian (family here since the 1830s)
And it may get ugly down there in South Philly. There's no such thing as a "polite" Philly hockey fan. These folks destroy things when we WIN! I remember well the raucous celebrations for the Stanley Cups in '74 & '75 (and I won't say why...LOL).

Did you see the group who greeted her outside when she was at the Irish Pub? They had to hustle her into the car real quick. There is some Buffalo TV station that had video footage of them.

14. McCain has been dumping a lot of money into Pennsylvania
So this is great. Maybe he will pull out of Pennsylvania to concentrate on North Carolina. This is great news.

16. He cannot pull out of PA without a complete collapse of his national support
It is tantamount to conceding the election at this point.

What he will do is pull down ads and events in eastern PA, and stay up on the markets that cross into Ohio (Pittsburgh, Erie). That way, he can still try to gain some electoral vote value (for OH) while not conceding PA, which is well and truly lost for him.

Look for ads to slow down or even come down in the Philly, Allentown, and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre markets within the next few days.

21. There really is no Allentown Market for networks
The Lehigh Valley is covered by Philly.

Part of the reason Philly's media market is so expensive for a campaign.

MN has also completely fallen apart for McSame as well, to Norm Coleman's detriment and Al Franken's benefit.
