Obama is a socialist rumors DEBUNKED- see inside ....
Ok, so the source of this rumor is the screen capture posted on powerline blog: http://www.powerlineblog.com/

This supposedly damning screen capture says that

Illinois: 3 NP (New Party) members won Democratic primaries last spring and face off against Republican opponents: Danny Davis (US House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).

So this link says that Danny Davis is a New Party member. Well, look at this link which indicates, as you would certainly expect from a Democratic primary, that he ran as a DEMOCRAT in 1996:

Not only that, he's a current DEMOCRATIC member of Congress:

Dang, why don't these right wingers give us something difficult to refute?

1. Also, I'd note that Bernie Sanders, Vermont Senator, is an actual socialist
so it's not like being a communist or anything.

2. I was about to point out that we could use a few actual socialists..
what passes for left in this country is considered moderate to right leaning in most of the rest of civilized world.

3. The DSA is a very mainstream group.

I would not be surprised if Bernie is not the only DSA member in Congress, though given the current climate in most of the country I doubt other members would advertise their affiliation.

The DSA by the way is an organization, not a political party. I know for a fact that there has always, from the founding for the DSA, been an overlap between the DSA and the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. That tells you how "extreme" they are.

Clearly says Democratic Party. Was only endorsed by the New Party.

7. Well that end that
So I guess they're going to say Obama should have rejected and denounced their endorsement.

The GOP makes socialists out to be the equivalent of Al Qaeda.
