Been thinking it for quite some time but have to say now CNN is much less biased than MSNBC
Ya know, a network that has as it's analysts Jeffrey Toobin, David Gergen, Suzanne Malveaux, Paul Begala, James Carville and Ed Rollins is fine by me. Wolf has been distinctly less pro-Mccain since the economic collapse but I do agree that he kissed up to Mccain earlier in the year. Anderson Cooper and Lou Dobss are the two journalists on CNN who I find to have a distinct pro-Mccain bent. They spend their entire show each day on new faux-pas scandal that is cooked up about Obama (Ayers and was nothing but Wright in the spring). Something that you may want to keep in mind about John King. He was born in Massachussettus. He may bother us sometimes but I find it hard to believe that John is anything but a liberal at heart. CNN also has Jack Cafferty who has HAMMERED Bush into the ground for the past 3 years and is hammering Mccain now as well. Their coverage is FAR superior gimmicks-wise (i.e., fancy set) and they are also balanced. I've been more than impressed with them during the fall campaign.

MSNBC, on the other hand, is a COMPLETE and total disgrace sans Keith, Rachel and Chris. Who anchors their election night, debate and convention coverage now? David Gregory. Someone who has cleary had it in for Senator Obama since the weekend before the New Hampshire primary last year. Go back and listen to his rants about Senator O on "Tim Russert" on MSNBC the Saturday before N.H. Joe Scarborough (a former gop congress-critter murderer right-wing nut!), Mika Brezenski whose brother is apparently a top Mccain campaign operative (read it on DU a while back), she FAWNS all over Sarah Palin in an absolutely disgusting way, Norah O'Donnell who many of us on the left screamed at for years (she's not quite as bad lately but was in 2004/2006), Tom Brokaw who is the self-designated Mccain liasion of MSNBC (Does any other network have a Mccain campaign liasion!!), and Harold Ford a known DLC hack. Harold Ford was their idea of a counterbalance to Joe Scarborough during the primaries and conventions. Republican meet republican lite. We also have Pat Buchanan who gets major air time on MSNBC consistently.

MSNBC is so far in the tank for Mccain outside of Chris, Keith and Rachel that it's outrageous. And Tom Brokaw made sure that Keith and Chris were silenced.

CNN, on the other hand, declared the race all but over for Mccain last night. Gave Obama a clear debate victory unlike this MSNBC 'Obama wins by default" crap.

A network founded by Ted Turner can't be all that bad in my book. A network founded by GE on the other hand....

Sure, is CNN still typical corporate media? Absolutely. No doubt. But are they by far the least biased out of big 3 cable news networks. Absolutely.

If you're looking to stop from screaming at your screen, I suggest tuning into CNN. They have been an ocean of sanity recently compared to the raving GOP lunatics at MSNBC and Fixed noise.

I just wanted to write this because I was feeling grateful to CNN for their coverage lately. Perhaps, I should send them an e-mail thanking them for being somewhat fair.

6. Just skip their shows
I can't watch Larry 'Methuselah' King either. God I hope I don't look that when I get old. dobbs and Beck are the designated idiots to keep the right-wingers quiet, and in Dobbs case to demonstrate the healing power of vaseline.

I find the main election coverage pretty good. Anderson Cooper will go off on Obama one day but then he seems to take equal delight in going off on Palin. Wolf wants a close race so he can continue to pretend everything that happens is breaking news. John King just wants to look like he got everything right.

It's not that great, but it's not that bad either.

to let him out of his cage.

5. MSNBC is pretty well rounded
It leans to the right in the morning, in the left in the evening.

And I don't consider Pat Buchanan as a right wing pundit, but more like a right wing clown. I like him because he always has something completely crazy to say.

7. It still depends on CNN
remember they have Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck and then there is Anderson, who swings with whichever way the wind is blowing...it depends on when you watch it, the same as MSNBC.

8. Never forget that NBC/MSNBC=GE, and GE=war machine.
I'm sure they're giddy with McCoward wanting to bomb Iran and flatten North Korea.

I got so sick of msnbc during the primaries - particularly after the Rev. Wright videos were being played 24/7, that I quit watching mnsbc with the exception of Keith. I was thrilled when Rachel got her own show, and watch it every night too. Matthews blows hot and cold, so sometimes I watch, sometimes not. I never turn on msnbc during the day because IMHO, it's completely unwatchable. On election/debate nights, I jump from channel to channel to get a variety of opinions.

I spent some time on CNN last night and was impressed with their coverage. I'm going to add a bit more CNN to my daily viewing. I wish they'd give Jack his own show.

9. CNN's Election Coverage is by far the best
I still watch MSNBC all the time as well as at night, but CNN is by far the most fair during their election coverage, because they have people that present all viewpoints.

10. Ted Turner hasn't had anything to do with CNN for some time now
It's owned by AOL Time Warner which is why it turned into FAUX Lite.

11. After the debates I immediately switch to CNN
Can't stand the tracker at the bottom of the CNN screen, but the assembled team is much better than MSNBC.

With Keith being moved to the second team it is just too annoying to watch some of the idiots on MSNBC.

Just got my first dose of Mika, and she is a joke.

12. CNN

I think it tries to be the most middle-of-the-road---not too many extremes either way (excluding Beck and Dobbs). But I appreciate MSNBC for having Rachel Maddow and, to a lesser degree, Keith Olbermann in order to hear somebody call McCain on his crap and not try to be so "balanced" (which is really sometimes not possible because McCain and Obama are really NOT guilty of the same offenses as much as the MSM wants to make us believe).

13. CNN & MSNBC are both too right wing for me. I catch Keith and Rachel. And Eugene !
And Larry King on the CNN if he has someone interesting on sometimes.

Watching CNN does NOT stop me from screaming at the screen. They have some good commentators on sometimes but lots of reporters trying hard to prop up the Republicans. Way too conservative for me to hang in there without fuming. And yes I have been disgusted by their war promotion.

Ted Turner is what they USED TO BE. No more. Time Warner now.
