Stevens will squeak out a win ..... get convicted .... resigns and goes to prison.

Palin appoints herself to his seat.

7. One problem with that scenario - the trial will be over before the election
so if he is convicted he will definitely lose. Alaskans might be a bit weird but I doubt they'd elect him if he is convicted.
