Has anyone heard McCain refer to Obama as "senator"?
My mom says he never uses the word and neither does Palin. That the closest they can bring themselves is Mr. Obama. I haven't seen anything about that here where people are quick to notice these little things, so I told her I'd ask.

1. They don't refer to each other as "Senator X" in the Senate.
It is always Mr.

4. In last night's debate he referred to "Senator Obama"
Brokaw: Sen. McCain?

McCain: Well, thank you, Tom. Thank you, Belmont University. And Sen. Obama, it's good to be with you at a town hall meeting.

From the CNN transcript here.

6. yes, I have. but rarely Palin. I've actually heard her refer to him as Barack which is not only
disrespectful, it makes my skin crawl to hear her call him by his first name. The nerve.
