I've always trusted Gallup most. Even when Obama was falling behind...
...they're one of the oldest--if not THE oldest--polling organizations in America, and definitely one of the most respected. They've only been wrong about the Presidential race twice in the last 70+ years of their existence (Dewey over Truman, and Ford over Carter), and in both cases, the margin was extremely slim. That's a pretty good record--and it may be why people tend to look at Gallup before they look at anyone else (like the frequently wrong Zogby, for instance.)

If Gallup says Obama is up by 11 points, I see no reason to doubt that our guys are way in the lead at this point. But don't get cocky.

1. If Gallup is saying Obama is up by 11 points,
I wonder what they're up to. I haven't trusted them since 2000. George Gallup died in '84 - going out as the top pollster in the business. In '88 Gallup was bought by Selection Research Inc., and ever since then I've seen the polls slant republican.

In the last decade, particularly, it seems the polls are more intent on creating opinion than measuring it.
