McCain is willing to sacrifice the economy and security of Washington D.C.
The Washington D.C. metro system is the only major city public transportation system without a dedicated funding source. They depend on earmarks from the federal government to stay afloat, and they are already dealing with dangerous infrastructure problems. Both John Warner and Tom Davis are begging him to pledge his support for the program, and so far he has refused.

So, in short, he would sacrifice this vital part of our nation's capitol's economy and security in the name of his idealogical opposition to all earmarks.

He's a very dangerous man.

2. How do his staffers get to work?..
I guess he doesn't worry about that, as he's got Cindy's limo to take him where he needs to go.

5. I'm betting at least some of 'em take Metro. I hope they don't mind slugging it.
Jeez, one of the things I miss about DC is the Metro. Houston's light rail system is in its utter infancy and I'll probably be dead before it becomes truly useful.
