Mccain did shake Obama's hand this time... get it right (focus on truth, folks)
somebody posted a video showing mccain tapping obama on the back and then "refusing" to shake obama's hand.

this is taken out of context. they had shaken hands earlier and mccain was merely trying to get him to talk with his wife.

i dont like mccain, but i really like the TRUTH... so let this one go, folks...

1. Agreed.
After the debate when mccain got in Brokaw's way, they were together shaking hands.

When Mc tapped Obama, Obama turned ready to shake 'someone's' hand - he just didn't know who it was until he turned around.

2. I just watched it again and here's how it went down, I watched it in slo-mo
Before John and Cindy left the building, John taps Barack on his shoulder and Barack reaches out to shake his hand but John points toward Cindy, so Barack shakes Cindy's hand. Michelle was standing behind Barack shaking hands with the crowd. Very strange and awkward moment.

Then the McCains wave at the crowd and then they left the building.

3. Yeah - it looked (and was) a bit awkward,
but it wasn't some sort of refusal.

8. It was a surreal moment
The man who McCain (belittled by saying he probably had never heard of Fanny Mae) was trying to shake McCains hand, it was hard to determine (camera angle) if McCain shook his hand, it kinda looks as though he did.

I couldn't tell if the man was wanting to talk with McCain or not, McCain seemed as though he was wanting a quick exit and Barack just so happened to be near by. Cindy wasn't in the picture at that point but she was heading that way. So, MCain immediately taps Obama on his shoulder.

The McCains are very strange people and seem out of place among the commoners. While the Obamas seem very at home with "the people" who were still there.

14. That's what I saw also. The first camera shot I saw of that was from the back as the
camera was focusing on Brokaw. I was starting to think I was the only one who had seen that.

9. There was a moment AFTER the debate when it appeared as if McCain declined to shake Obama's hand
McAsshole jerkily pointed to Cindy instead, and Obama, taking the hint, shook her hand.

why is this being ignored? How many times in a night do you HAVE to shake hands with the same person?

12. He still blew him off afterwards and there was the "That one" comment
McCrap was obviously grumpier after the debate because he knew it didn't help him much.

22. who does that?
I don't understand how that scenario could possibly not be considered rude. When someone comes up to you and extends their arm for a handshake, would you point them to shake the hand of the person next to you instead? If someone did that to me, I would not be impressed.

25. That's your opinion, nothing more; please don't act as if it's a provable fact.

It's not. And behaving as though it is
comes across as pretty darn rude.

20. Over-analyzed. That, according to Michelle Obama.
Just now on the Daily Show she cleared things up. And you're right. This was definitely not what people are saying. And Michelle says it was one of those things that was over analyzed. They had already met, shook hands, etc.

21. I was taught that it was proper etiquette to shake a hand extended to you
The way I see it, the handshake at the beginning of the debate occurred when McCain knew the cameras were on him and he was confident that he would do well because it was a town hall format. I think it's interesting how McCain acts when he may think the cameras are off.

24. McSame shunned Obama when he thought nobody was looking and
Edited on Wed Oct-08-08 11:13 PM by live love laugh
we don't need a revisionist to try to tell us otherwise.

McSame is a mean, evil and jealous man who feels that he is entitled to beat Obama.

He needs to get over it and nobody's cutting him, or his apologists, any slack.

(PS: If you watch the video, not only didn't he shake his hand afterwards, his face took on this dark ugly look that was completely in line with somebody who was angry and you have to ask why he would attempt to "pass" Obama on to his wife--as if he had the right to do so. That move alone was condescending--he tried to put Obama in his place--with his wife and not as an equal.)
