How will Isreal attacking Iran impact the election?
Its almost a foregone conclusion that Isreal will bomb Iran before the election, it ill help McCain but how much and what is Obamas fall back in this scenario?

Do you think it will impact, I feel it wont but Im struggling with how it will play out, good or bad for us in the election.

2. That they will bomb Iran or that it will only matter to them when they do.

4. The former
Obviously an Iran/Israel war would be bad for everybody. That's why it won't happen.

14. The UK will be forced to support it, but
It will be in not much more than moral support alone. If you thought you saw the biggest protest ever in Britain before the Iraq war then you can definitely expect bigger if they attack Iran.
Ultimately The US and the UK would not let Israel hit Iran while there are up to 200,000 US, UK and other allied troops in range of everything Iran has in its arsenal. Russia has already warned Israel not to attack Iran and is supplying top notch anti-aircraft defenses to them. Finally I just don't think it will help Mccain because although the US people are heavily supportive of Israel most of them simply can't take another war that could escalate in to a conflict involving Russia or China.

17. Britons hated the Iraq War
yet Blair is still happy that he sent troops there. Kind of tells you something.

Also, Israel doesn't have the non-nuclear capability to take out Iran's nuclear facilities. Those military war games Israel had a couple months ago were just a way to posture. They're underground protected by many layers of concrete.

18. And Blair is out of power
Brown (his former Chancellor) was until yesterday only popular compared to George Bush. Whereas Blair had a political midas touch, Brown has a political Brown touch.

5. The economic crisis changes this
Even the neocons now realize that we can't afford a war with Iran. The Bush administration won't give Israel the green light.

7. People shouldn't get paranoid.
I find it really hard to believe that Israel would actually attack Iran, and find it just as unlikely that Iran would attack Israel. One has to look through the rhetoric.

15. Above all else, Israel will ALWAYS act in Israel's best interests
The rightwingnut war monger fantasy you are espousing is decidedly NOT in Israel's best interest.

In fact, it is far more in their interest to wait, see how the US elections play outan and hope for a diplomatic solution.

Suffice it to say, Isarael will not be attacking anybody any time soon.
