17. I was shocked
I didn't hear that comment at first...I think it was shock that he would first of all say it...and secondly be so dumb as to say it during a debate...does he really think the American Electorate is just as dumb?

And yeah, they're important for teaching kids (of all ages) about science.

In my generation an overhead projector is a small office item...used in presentations before power point...so for many over 50 like myself it was a WTF moment...and because McCain is so tech dumb...I thought that is what he was referring too... He is such a tool....

...ABC's footage showed the two candidates shaking hands several minutes before (blocked view on the other cameras). McCain was just introducing Cindy to Obama at that point.

I suppose it was an idiotic attempt at self-deprecating humor.

But we don't need John McCain to tell us he's bald and old. We know. We can see that. Just like Obama's race, it's apparent from looking at McCain.

I think in the end he reminded viewers of his age.

33. Actually he said "tiller"
Till is unsorted glacial sediment. Glacial drift is a general term for the coarsely graded and extremely heterogeneous sediments of glacial origin. Glacial till is that part of glacial drift which was deposited directly by the glacier. It may vary from clays to mixtures of clay, sand, gravel and boulders. Clay in till may form in spherical shapes called till balls. If a till ball rolls around in a stream, it may pick up rocks from the streambed and become covered by rocks; thence it is known as an armored till ball.

Main Entry:
4till Listen to the pronunciation of 4till
Pronunciation:
\ˈtil\
Function:
noun
Etymology:
Middle English tille locker, chest
Date:
15th century

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/till%5B4%5D

A tiller or till is a lever attached to a rudder post (American terminology) or rudder stock (English terminology) of a boat in order to provide the leverage for the helmsman to turn the rudder. The tiller is normally used by the helmsman directly pulling or pushing it, but it may also be moved remotely using tiller lines.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiller

he's a Navy man you see :eyes:

Tillers are made in three main types -- front tine, rear tine, and mini-cultivators. (A tine is the projecting metal blade that does the actual digging). Both front and rear tine tillers have depth stakes to adjust the level of earth you want to work.

30. For me it was
many moments - each time McCain went into his Peter Lorre "impressions." It was totally creepy. I was a bit slow to figure out that he was seething with anger at those times. Lowering the voice and speaking softly is a tactic many people use when they're trying not to scream and completely lose it. His shaky voice at other times made him seem like he WAS about to lose it. I don't want this man to be anywhere near the White House. Scares the crap out of me.

54. ** HERE'S THE GAFFE NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT**
My daughter caught it right away.

I beleive it was the 2nd audience question where a young black man sitting on the left got up and asked a question about what we as taxpayers could expect from this bailout ...

McCain walks over to him and starts talking about Fanny and Freddy, McCain looked at him and said, "I'm sure you may not even have known who "Fanny" and "Freddie" were before all this"

My teenaged daughter looked at me and I looked at her and she said, "Did he just say what I think he said?"

How presumptious of McCain to think this young man may not have heard of Fanny and Freddy. He could have been a Morgage Broker or a Financial Analyst for all McCain knew. I hate to even say it, but do you think the mans skin color had anything to do with such an absurd and presumptious comment.

How offensive ....

55. let's see
McCain leans on a rail while getting close to a questioner. Making himself look old and tired.

McCain needlessly insults all Americans knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

McCain throws out Warren Buffett as a pick for Obama (thanks for the help) then serves up a person most Americans have never heard of as secretary of the treasury.

Repeating a mistake from last debate: He tells America he wouldn't kill Bin Laden if he was in Pakistan unless Pakistan told him ok. Remember he's the Maverick!

Repeating a mistake from last debate: He tells America he is going to cut the defense budget yet fight two war simultaneously. Does he want conservatives to vote for him?

He explains that Ronald Reagan was wrong (about Lebanon but who remembers that event, all people heard was McCain thinks Reagan was wrong). Apparently he doesn't want conservative votes or he wouldn't touch Saint Reagan.

Repeating a mistake from last debate: He calls for a cut across the board freeze, then later tells us social security and medicare will have to go. Obama easily points out the unfairness of a total freeze (what did McCain not watch the last debate he lost).

Repeating a mistake from the last two debates: McCain ignores his horrible judgement in starting the war to go on and on about a surge Americans aren't that interested in paying for and how that surge will work in Afghanistan even though the last debate pretty much told Americans it wouldn't. Cementing in Americans minds that McCain doesn't watch these debates even the ones he is in.

He scores big with a Tom Brokaw joke (meaning someone laughed which is unusual for a McCain joke), decides to tell more not funny jokes.

He wanders into camera shot while Obama is speaking. Worst moment of the event. Dottering old man.

62. He had the NERVE to mention that he suspended his campaign
to help solve the financial crises. "Senator Obama didn't."

That whole suspension episode was such a loser - I can't believe he would actually brag about it. You'd think he actually accomplished something...

77. His simpering comment about
not hearing what the fines were going to be. He played it like a "gotcha" moment - a big score - a crowd pleaser. It just came off lame, out of place, and mis-timed.
