Did anybody else think McCain's jokes...or attempts at jokes...

Made him seem even more out of it? I mean he was awful tonight and when he tried to be funny he just seemed...well...senile. Maybe that's just me.

When he made his "funny" "jokes", the audience either didn't laugh or gave those dreadful, forced, canned laughs, it was almost somewhat mortifying. He was out of it.

He attempted "jokes" about weak spots in his own candidacy -- like his age, etc. I do not know that they were intended to be funny, more I think he attempted to make light of things so others might also not seriously look at his age and physical condition which, given his years as a POW, has to be less than ideal. But wasn't there one about Brokaw? That one was a little weird. -mb
