My simple reason for knowing Barack Obama will win...
Bush won my state by 20 points in '04.

It is now in play. It is a tossup.

Game over, man. Game over.

5. You are so right Indy.
Indiana is one of 4 or so states I'll be watching VERY closly to look for trends on election night. Others are Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina.

If they call it for Obama in Indiana on election night, I will know it is over.

12. We have your back here in Cass County--North Central Indiana, for sure.
I can feel it in my bones! This is a small red county with a county seat city of around 50k or so. They said in the paper tonight around 15k voters but I'm betting after all the registrations are in the chairman says around 20k. The clerk's office said they received "hundreds" of registrations yesterday on the last day of registration. I took my mom to early vote today and the place had a line we had to wait in!

I've been canvassing for 2-3 months now and all of my results each time are showing Obama up over McCain everytime with the samples around town....and we haven't even contacted the core base Dems yet! This has mainly been undecideds and Republicans!!!

Although there aren't many signs up for either side, the Obama signs outnumbers the McCain signs I'd say 3:1.

This area is a big swing place but is dominantly Republican. We do vote in Dem mayors but I don't know why or how. We have many religious folks and most of the business population is Republican conservative. But--we have an old group of Irish & Italian Catholics leftover from the old railroading days. There also used to be many factories that were pro-union, so we have a strong union influence as well. We have the highest Latino population per capita than anywhere else in the state now. The wage is kept lower here. No big business except Walmart which has driven many local businesses out of business. People are becoming very angry and disgruntled. The conservatives don't like daylight savings time of which their Repub Gov. they elected implemented, and the Gov also leased out our toll roads to foreigners which doesn't sit well with many. He also wanted to privatize our State Mental Hospitals and the state workers have had enough of the Repub attempts!

I really feel a strong swing towards Obama and Dems of which I've never felt before in my whole life (44 years) of living here (except for 2 years in Los Angeles and 5 in Indianapolis).

Just once, just once, I would be so overjoyed if Indiana went blue for a Dem president in my lifetime. I was too young to remember 1964. I would really like for our votes to feel like they actually mean something this time. Did I mention I also love Obama and Biden!? Couldn't be a better ticket to win Indiana with. I would be so proud. I've cried just thinking about it.

Please do what you guys can to help my state go for OBama/Biden! We're trying harder than we've ever tried before!!!!

If someone told me it was in play in 2007 for a democratic Presidential nominee. I would have laughed so hard tears would have come out of my ass. Let alone an African American nominee no offense.
