You know what I'M REALLY surprised about? We're not talking about BROKAW.
He was going out of his way for over the first half of the debate to screw with Obama.

First, he distorted Obama's statement that the bailout was just the beginning of our fixing the economy- he used one of his precious follow-ups to ask Obama if he was saying that the economy was only going to get worse.

Then he complained to Obama that he was going over time, even as McCain was doing the same thing.

He also converted a couple of the audience questions into gotcha questions- is health care a commmodity? Oh, let me follow up on that- is healthcare a RIGHT, Senator Obama? I DARE you to say it is...

Which Obama DID. I was SO PROUD of him!!

Among other things.

How about THAT? Was EXPECTING you to be talking about Brokaw's shitty, uneven job. Didn't challenge McCain in the least, not even once. And he changed around questions to try to back Obama into a corner.

1. The bias did not go unnoticed
at least, not by my family.

It was disgusting.

2. Brokaw is so obviously for McSame, it isn't even funny
I loved how Obama came back on him, though. He wouldn't let Obama explain his REAL tax proposal, so Obama worked that into his answer of the Social Security question.

GOBAMA!!

That was pure BRILLIANCE- he segued so unbelievably smoothly from Social Security into taxes. I was elated, yelled.

5. Yep.
It seemed like he was letting McCain get the last word on most of the questions. Brokaw also "coincidentally" scolded about going over the time limit, only right after Obama had finished. He was really over the top with his sarcastic "I don't know if you noticed these lights" bit.. Obvious bias - McCain and Brokaw even had a little tag team rapport going there for a while.

8. Plus he had Obama go first on the final question,
giving McCain time to think it over and have the final word.

As you say, none of it mattered, because Obama was so good.

23. According to these "rules" because Obama went first, McCain was scheduled to have the last word.
That meant that in the last question, Obama went first, then McCain.

9. That's what I popped on to my computer to blog in to the group threads.
About how much one Old Has Been was helping the other Old Has Been.

Brokaw looked rather old and broken and that ricocheted to his pal Johnny McLiar.

But others seemed to think Brokaw wasn't bad. And he allowed the Zen question which enabled Obama's graceful closing statement.

10. Brokaw made sure that Gramps
got the last word virtually every time. He even cut off the one minute discussion sessions to make sure. And then, he made sure that the next to the last question was from a Navy Chief, so McCain could "connect" with him. I thought it was a disgraceful performance.

11. This, I think, was the nadir of Tom Brokaw's career.
After all these years, it has now been laid bare; Tom Brokaw is a RW tool. Funny though, even with a ringer, McCrypt still leaves Nashville with ass firmly in hand, having been politely handed it by Barry O.

Domestic issue favored Obama and Tom gave the first hour of the debate to those issues. I thought Obama hammered them and really did McCain no favors (cept time wise).

34. My biggest beef: The asshole was only concerned about the rules when Obama wanted to followup
but yet it was somehow OK for him to ask his own f*cking questions, which was against the rules. If he was so worried about time and the rules, he should have kept his questions to himself. :eyes: And he should feel pretty stupid for shilling for McCain only to fall under the straight express bus himself with McShame's "joke."

37. Brokaw is a Repub;ican shill. No surprises EXCEPT
that he was SOOOOOOOOO obvious! I could not believe that he refused to let Obama rebut McCain but let McCain rebut Obama--with lies at that--twice.

I think that the public in general is becoming much more aware of media bias which will blow up in the MSM's face.
