If attendance at rallies is any indicator, Obama beats McCain/Palin by about 4 to 1.

4. I don't think we have enough time
to get AK. Or AL. But I am predicting we nab AZ, and maybe I should change AR.

2 out of 4 in the A's would be a landslide!

5. I think a lot will depend on the outcome
of the Troopergate investigation. Steve Branchflower's report is due on Friday, and our legislature is being lobbied hard to publicly release it. Whether Obama wins Alaska or not, I think the results will be much closer than this polling reflects. Letters to the editor are running about 3 to 1 against Palin and hardly anyone is still supporting her in the "comments" to Palin stories.

6. But Palin has a 150% approval rating in Alaska!
And she has 1000 years of experience as president of the PTA!

And just watch out for that Palin Bounce after the VP debate!

14. I've been waiting to explain this approval rating
1) You have a state whose entire budget is oil royalties.

2) You serve during the steepest rise in oil prices in history.

3) You pass a windfall profits tax on the oil companies.

4) You nearly double the size of the State government, adding many programs and services without raising taxes.

5) You still have so much money that you give it away to the electorate.

That's gonna make ya pretty gosh durn popular there.

16. Palin: Support those who hate America, but take the cash if you can get it!
That sounds like a Republican candidate all right.

8. Obama should visit Alaska once, but there is probably no time.
I think it would bring the state really close, and Palin would look bad

17. I think you're right.
He'd probably draw a HUGE crowd. Even the rallies without him here are bigger than anyone's ever seen before.

9. Mwah hah hah hah
I'd love to see us turn Alaska blue. I wrote it off when Palin was nominated, but maybe it's not that remote a possibility after all!

10. This is good news for Berkowitz and Begich, AL house and Senate races.

Smaller chance of coat-tails.

There have been three anti-Palin or pro-Obama rallies in Anchorage in the past month, each attended by well over 1,000 people, dwarfing attendance at pro-Palin rallies by about 4 to 1.
