Survey USA: Obama out in front in WISCONSIN by ten-points

Measure Obama for a Wisconsin Cheese-Head: In an election for President of the United States in Wisconsin today, 10/07/08, four weeks till votes are counted and one week until early voting begins, Democrat Barack Obama defeats Republican John McCain 52% to 42%, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for WGBA-TV Green Bay, WDIO-TV Duluth, and KSTP-TV Minneapolis.
McCain leads in greater Milwaukee and among Pro-Life voters. Obama leads, or ties McCain, in all other regions and demographic groups: young and old, male and female, Moderate and Independent, more educated and less educated, lower income and higher income, religious and not so religious.

Filtering: 900 Wisconsin adults were interviewed by SurveyUSA 10/05/08 and 10/06/08. Of them, 808 were registered to vote. Of them, 672 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote on or before Election Day. John Kerry carried Wisconsin by 11,384 votes in 2004. Al Gore carried Wisconsin by 5,708 votes in 2000. The state has 10 Electoral Votes.

6. Greater Milwaukee includes the collar counties around it which are usually very republican
but yes, the city of Milwaukee I would imagine as strong Obama.

8. I know-Waukesha, etc. But doesn't "Greater Milwaukee" generally go Dem?

Also, I not that this poll was of so-called "likely voters." That probably incorrectly excludes many inner-city people and others who, despite not having voted often in the past, will be turning out in droves this time.

I really think "GM" will be a pretty shade of blue on Nov 4.

Look at Milwaukee County on this map (noting reversal of usual Red/Blue color coding):

4. Ok, McCain should really leave all Kerry states.
And play full defense. Great that he doesn't get it.

5. I like it, but Survey USA polls are worthless. They're consistant outliers
Survey USA surveys by robo-calling and asking respondents to answer by entering different dial tones. Their surveys end up being skewed to the demographics of people who are willing to put up with a recorded voice telling them to jump through hoops.

Never believe a Survey USA poll.

11. Such good news!
McCain't has a ZERO ground game here in Wisconsin. I think they have two offices, compared to Obama's 35 or more.
