Advisors worrying about Grumpy McCain?

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14364.html

But what friends call "grumpy McCain" is showing up regularly on the
campaign trail, and several top advisers worry that it's hurting his
campaign by making him appear peevish and hunkered down when the
country is looking for a larger and more optimistic brand of
leadership.

After his first debate with Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), both
spectators in the hall and commentators on TV noted that McCain had
deliberately avoided looking at his rival.

A close McCain friend said the reason is clear: McCain is miserable
about having to run a campaign that's antithetical to his persona.

"He is basically having to be somebody that he isn't," said the
friend, who remains strongly supportive. "He is just not a guy that
goes on the attack in public. For him to be on the attack constantly,
attacking Obama's character … McCain is uncomfortable with that, and
it's made him grumpy."

2. So he has no control over his campaign message and we expect him to lead?
I mean, if he can't even lead his own country, how'll he lead the nation?

10. this election has exposed McCain as a guy who is not up to the job of president
He's like a class clown, whose only goal it to draw attention, by whatever means necessary.

11. I cant wait until this evening - I predict the meltdown
Think about it - he's going to be trying really hard to keep himself in line and to actually *gasp* make eye contact with Obama - all while he tries to go on the offensive and paint Obama's personal connections into the picture somehow.

It's going to be too much for McGrouch. I predict a meltdown of Krakatoa proportions.

either way and this way mccain gets to go down as someone who will never be known as a "straight talker" again.

It was bullshit anyway.
