What Obama needs to do in this debate!
Do what he believes is best.

I won't ever question Obama's tactics (or is that a strategy, McCain?), because I think he's proven throughout the primaries and general he knows far more than any of us when it comes to debating and political campaigning.

So, yeah, just do what you're gonna do.

:D

1. All he needs to do is not fuck up.
As long as the status quo is maintained, it's an Obama win. It's McCain who needs to shake things up.

2. Connect, connect, connect
Obama wins by relating to issues and "feeling our pain".

3. Obama needs to fight his fight and not get suckered into a slugout.
What Obama has been doing is working and I trust him to do what he believes is best. His track record on that is pretty good.

4. I have to say his political instincts, his timing, his slo-mo unpeeling of the McC onion
are nothing short of amazing. He nails it every time! We have fricking Michael Phelps here. And Dishonest John is Liu Xiang, the Chinese hurdler who was injured and didn't get to compete.

5. Appear dignified and presidential, do not sink in the mud with McCain
I would hope he'd say something along the lines of what he said the night he won the nomination, that the election isn't about him (or McCain) but about the American people and what can be done to help them. If directly confronted with Ayers he should just answer briefly that to ascribe to him the beliefs of Ayers for things Ayers did when Obama was 8 years old is just ridiculous.

Then keep plugging away at what he will do to fix the economy, how the bailout was just the beginning and how the new president will have to do much more versus the lifelong deregulatory record of McCain who two weeks ago said the "fundamentals of our economy are strong" and now tries to falsely portray himself as a champion of regulation. If Obama wants to dip in the mud just a bit he might add that McCain's record of being against regulation goes back to the days of the S&L crisis and Keating, though I don't think he should go there unless McCain keeps attacking him.

He might even think about paraphrasing Bill Clinton and say that he will focus on the economy "like a laser beam".

6. My prediction is that McCain will try and try to goad Obama
into a pissing contest and Obama won't bite...

What do bully's do when they are ignored? They get angrier and start saying shit out of anger....

My Prediction - McCain loses his temper tonight and his numbers plummet to an unrecoverable state!
