23. No Siree ! Plans have to be made
There will be a punch and cookies reception on the D.C. Mall for survivors and the newly resurrected immediately following the nuclear holocaust and the Harrowing of Hell. The names of the followers of the Antichrist, all having been cast into the Lake of Fire with the Serpent, will be printed in all the newspapers. All the networks of the world will carry Jesus' Inaugural Address live from on top of the Capitol rotunda, so a vast number of portable generators are going to have to be ordered in advance and kept ready to go for the reporters' live standups. We're going to need fireproof confetti, ticker tape, lead lined enclosures for the marching bands... Lord knows what else!

24. and she gets to nominate a new VP
like, Todd: I don't see anything in the Constitution preventing it. Of course, he has to get majority approval from both houses.

Or Lieberman, since he's been such a nice turncoat.

Shouldn't we make it easy for the Lord, so he only has to beam us up from Alaska
and not worry about any of the Heathen countries down below, closer to Hell and everything?

14. If that were to happen,
Miss Sarah would get maybe 12,000 votes across the country. Even a lot of Republicans would not vote for her if she were actually going to become President immediately. A lot of them would stay home in droves, or they'd try a write-in campaign of some kind for Romney, I suppose. But no, it would be NOTHING like what happened in Missouri in 2000, when Mel Carnahan, then Governor of Missouri and running for the U.S. Senate, was killed in a plane crash a few short weeks before the election, and won anyway. His Republican opponent was -- are you ready for this, those of you who don't recall offhand -- John Ashcroft. Carnahan's wife Jean was selected to serve instead, which she did for two years until a special election was held. She lost the special election, to Republican Jim Talent. Talent lost his re-election quest to Democrat Claire McCaskill.

15. total chaos
At least Bush has Cheney. It's not clear who Palin would have to lean on. Todd and the AIP? McCain isn't popular inside is party so it's not clear who's going to be in the White House. You can guess leaches like Lieberman. But is Joe going to play second fiddle to the SARAH/ Todd show. Nope. So she'll clear out the White House in bring in the small world around her in Alaska into the White House. Which means there will be noone in charge. It's like the Bush White House only even lazier and out of control. So I think it's safe to say, if McCain dies there will be no one in charge of the White House.

16. What is even scarier is that at the end of the 2012 term, she would be eligible for 2 more terms
The first one would not count toward her term limits.

21. Depends when McCain would die.
If he were to die early (within the first two years) she could only run for re-election once. If she completes two years or less of MCain's term, she then can run for re-election in both '12 and '16.

27. Well, if you figure in the biblical "Tribulation math" here
The reign of the Antichrist is supposed to be 7 years. So my guess would be that Gramps would kick the bucket about a year into his term, allowing for 7 years of all Hell literally breaking loose at the hands of Sarah Moosealini: Spawn of Satan himself

34. Well that would just be bad planning by Satan.
By waiting two years, he could have the White House for ten years. By knocking off McCain after a year, Palin would only be President for seven years.

30. If McCain dies less then half-way into his term
and she takes over, then it counts as a full term for her and she would only be able to run for one additional term. If he dies more then half-way through, she can run for two terms.

Seriously though, I'd rather not think of them winning, I'll have nightmares tonight. :-(

"Put your hand on the button General by golly, I want to go down in history dontchaknow".

If palin actually becomes president, I hope to christ the democratic congress has the balls to investigate & restrain her.

It'll be great. And after she fucks America up the GOP can put another grossly incompetent folksy person up and all the people who didn't learn a damn thing from Bush and Palin can vote for them.
