For the first time I was polled by a national polling firm.
I didn't get the name of the firm, we had company over and I was distracted.

I figure it's a national poll, because they asked me if I was aware or my neighbors were likely aware of where polling stations were. The pollster was a little taken aback when I pointed out Oregon had mail in ballots, so that's why I'm thinking it wasn't a local poll.

They asked my who I prefered in the GE.

Where I get my political information: phone, e-mail, blogs, etc.

They spent a considerable number of questions asking about the VP debate.

And a few other minor things.

So if you see some really good poll come up soon, I'm probably about 1/800th responsible for that.

1. This is going to sound crazy
But could you tell what the race of the interviewer was? I have a friend who works for a Democratic pollster and she said they have noticed a race-of-interviewer effect in their polls, so I am curious if public pollsters have the same problem. I know some phone banks used for polls are heavily African American, so I am curious if that is the case with public pollsters as well.

3. I'm no linguistics expert.
But the pollster did have a mild southern accent that could have been influenced by AAVE. It would fit, at least, with the stereotype of African Americans on the phone.
