Wolfson: It's Over
It's Over: Why Bill Ayers Won't Save John McCain

“Perpetually fretting Democrats will not want to accept it. The campaigns themselves can't afford to believe it. Many journalists know it but can't say it. And there will certainly be some twists and turns along the way. But take it to a well capitalized bank: Bill Ayers isn't going to save John McCain. The race is over.

John McCain's candidacy is as much a casualty of Wall Street as Lehman or Merrill. Like those once vibrant institutions, McCain's collapse was stunning and quick. One minute you are a well-respected brand. The next you are yelling at the messengers of your demise as all around you the numbers start blinking red and stop adding up.

McCain's road was difficult to begin with: the President of his party has had record-low approval ratings for two years and the number of Americans who say the country is heading in the wrong direction is stratospheric. He also had the misfortune to be pitted against an exceptional candidate running an extremely well-executed campaign.

Still, before Wall Street's collapse Senator McCain was ahead. His approval ratings remained high, his VP pick had generated excitement and interest, and his campaign operatives were capable, on any given day, of winning news cycles and giving their opponents fits. And then the underpinnings of American capitalism begin to sink -- and with them sunk McCain.” Cont…

2. From a born loser like Wolfson, who tanked the strongest candidacy in modern history
I'll take discussions of losing as definitive.

3. Uh, Howard? No offense, duder, but you'll forgive us
if we don't take your word for it--considering you and your flunkies managed to derail one of the most inevitable candidacies for President in a long time.

4. This is the type of crap they'll use to try to convince us there's no need to go to the polls.
Vote. Vote. Vote. Nothing else will stop them.

5. Exactly. These comments are intended to enable a Hillary 2012 campaign.
I will not treat any words coming out of Wolfson's mouth as anything but pro-Hillary machinations.

9. Don't worry

6. It's over when the last neocon dies.
Sorry. I don't mean to denigrate your post. I just have so much animosity in me right now. I know that we're up against cheaters, bullies, criminals. And they'll stop at nothing.

I wanted to say it's over on November 5th. Then January 20th. But then the logical conclustion is when America is intelligent and healthy again. With accurate media feedback.

Phew, I now realize it's not over.

8. Damn right.
It will take some serious real education, hard-work, and investment in the infrastructure to make it over.

Once Rural America stops voting against it's own self interestes it will be over. We must help them as much as it hurts us to say

19. You're Quite Right
If Pelosi hadn't taken impeachment off the table. a right that was not hers to take, then snippy, obnoxious, know nothing governors wouldn't be saying powers that the Constitution never offered, were hers to take and enlarge upon. This is what happens when there is no accountability. Nixon shouldn't been let off the hook, nor Raygun. Cheney was just the latest, and greatest, criminal to try to steal what didn't be-ling to him. Governor Caribou seems to think she is in the same league.

10. CNN was just pimping the Ayers thing.
Both talking heads admitted that Obama was only 7 years old at the time, but nodded their heads in agreement and said that it was true fair and just to claim that Obama had direct ties to terrorists.

McSame's candidacy, McMoose's candidacy, and more than likely McSame's real one as he has "the cancer" again.

Who knows what types of legal challenges to the voting results the Republicans will undertake post-Nov 4?

13. Right.
A number of top republicans are upset not so much that McCain is going to lose in November, as that his campaign has secured a ball & chain on other republican candidates for both houses of congress.

18. Right now there are two things that need focus.
McLame wants to cut Medicare & privatize Social Security.

Those facts will cause McLame to lose.

23. I don't care if that bloated horse of a candidacy is laying on the ground
I'm gonna beat it, kick it and pound at it until Nov. 4, and then for another few days afterward just for the pleasure and principle. NOTHING IS OVER until the polls close!!!
