What is up with Ohio early voting!!!!
In georgia we have already had over 196000 early voters. Of that 75 thousand are African american. What is going on in Ohio??? We need people to vote or do they not care. I know many are glad to see the poll numbers but we need GOTV..

1. My vote isn't going to change between now and November...
...so I don't really see the point of my voting early. Would it help? I kinda like the concept of going to the polls along with the rest of the nation as a celebratory event.

6. The Republicans make sure there are long lines in Democratic strong holds
if you live in one of those areas, be sure to vote early to ease the lines

8. I love going on Election Day too, BUT

everyone is predicting historic turnout this year -- just think that if you vote early, you make it that much easier for all the folks who are going on Election Day and might have to get to work, get home to the kids, etc etc.

:hi:

14. True, that's a good thought.
I'm in rethug-land, though, judging from all the nauseating yard signs around me, so I don't think there will be too much interference here. In '04 I was in a heavily Democratic area, and I watched the mess right before my eyes - people standing in the freezing rain for 3-4 hours, some having to leave before they ever got a chance to cast a vote.

Since my schedule is more open than that of most people, working from home and all, I'll definitely consider voting early.

16. Honestly, if I could vote early I would
There will be long lines, trouble with machines, shenannigans... If you can avoid that, and get your vote in, it will be good for all of us.

2. how do you know the numbers already?
Are you sure 75,000 African Americans have voted already? That would be HUGE for Obama in Georgia.

15. then that's amazing
Pollsters haven't been calling new voters, of whom Obama is winning nearly 2 to 1, so we could be in for a VERY big night come Nov 4th.

5. Don't poke fingers at Ohio.
If you care get your butt up here and help. Folks are working as hard as they can on this and I would say that the picture in Ohio is better every day. Ohio had a huge solicitation for absentee voters so many votes will come in via mail or hand delivered. Peace out, Kim
