TSX plummets 1200 points, as do Conservatives!
The Toronto Stock Exchange dropped nearly 10% at the opening bell this morning, that's over 1200 points; it rallied later this morning but is still down 650. Also announced this morning Prime Minister Harper's ruling Conservative party just tanked in the polls due to his inaction over the economy and saying Canada's fundamentals are "just fine."

The election is next Tuesday. Just shows you that Conservatives suck at money on either side of the border.

1. Tory support at a new low

Thanks Liberalboy that's very welcome news :hi:

THE CANADIAN PRESS

OTTAWA – Support for the Conservatives appears to be echoing the downward spiral of world financial markets.

The latest poll by The Canadian Press Harris-Decima put Tory support at a new low – 32 per cent.

However, that's still seven points ahead of the Liberals, who crept up to 25 per cent.

With just eight days until voting day on Oct. 14, the NDP was at 21 per cent and the Greens at 12.

The Bloc Quebecois had eight per cent nationally and was leading comfortably in Quebec.
