Major, major food fight over in freep land: "Attn McCain Haters: SHUT Your Stinking TRAP!"
A little taste of the O.P. (it's a L-O-N-G rant):

Attn McCain Haters: SHUT Your Stinking TRAP! (Vanity)

By now, most McCain haters will have already skipped down to the comments section to post their expletives and tell me how it’s a free country and they have a 1st Amendment right, etc. to yammer on and on about how bad McCain sucks, totally missing the point of my post, again. But I’m here to tell you, in this free country, that in my opinion, you should SHUT YOUR STINKIN TRAP! To all you ingrates, rageaholics, and self-absorbed punks, WE KNOW YOU HATE MCCAIN. You can give yourself a rest now and stop posting on every single thread the same exact comments. I’m not going to name names, but I will if I have to. I think we all know by now who I’m talking about. The folks who post the same pictures and the same comments on EVERY SINGLE THREAD. We got it. You aren’t voting for McCain. Fine. Time to move on. Yes, that’s my opinion. You have had enough time to accept the reality that John Sidney McCain III, WAR HERO, is the Republican nominee. Some folks on FR have used this time to learn more about Johnny, realize that he isn’t as bad as they thought, grow up, act like adults, and get in gear to vote for him. Some of you have decided not only to beat your collective dead horse everyday, banging out the same tiresome gripes about McCain on every thread, but you’ve also gotten increasingly VITRIOLIC.

...and some of the responses (975 replies to the thread so far):

I hate McCain.

I don’t hate McCain, but I do think McCain will stab conservatives in the back every chance he gets. The nicest thing about McCain is he is better than the whatever the Democratic alternative is.

The only thing I hate worse than McCain are people who defend him and hate me.

Go screw yourself CG, this IS a free country and if someone wants to hate McCain, that’s their right, and in fact McCain himself would be the first one to tell you that.

Get a life.

McCain dropped the bomb on your First Amendment rights.

The others may hate the Constitution as much as McCain, but he’s the only one to score a direct hit on the Bill of Rights.

I don't get the anti-McCain rage either. I can't stand his past assaults on free speech and a free economy, and I'm wary of his vindictive temper. But, practically speaking, conservatives have a simple choice.

Vote for McCain and hope he rises to the occasion on some important issuers. Or don't, and hope the ensuing all-Dem all-the-time nightmare produces a Reaganesque reactionary hero years down the road, and that the Dem damage hasn't been irreparable. I'm voting for McCain.

I had forgotten just how much the RWers hated the McCain/Feingold amendment. Looks like a few of them still haven't gotten over it.

6. I love the fear of an "all-Dem all-the-time nightmare"
As if the all-GOP all-the-time experiment of the past 8 years has produced a wonderful fairy-tale utopia.

9. This response is just...nonsensical...
Vote for McCain and hope he rises to the occasion on some important issuers. Or don't, and hope the ensuing all-Dem all-the-time nightmare produces a Reaganesque reactionary hero years down the road, and that the Dem damage hasn't been irreparable...

Hope the DEM damage hasn't been irreparable? Exactly who is responsible for the damage in the last 8 years? It couldn't possibly be 8 years of a Republican administration and 6 years of a Republican-controlled Congress, could it?

Or do these people think the Bush years have been successful?

10. I have fundie friends who blame the current state of affairs...
...on the ascent of Reid and Pelosi.

I've gotten these long, rambling emails about how everything was great and the economy was strong and then the Democrats came along to destroy the House and Senate.

12. They are the 20 percenters...
You have to remember that at all times when analyzing their thought process.

As for the content of this thread, it's hilarious. Just goes to show that this election year is going to be a disaster for them.

11. You do realize that this freeper thread is from back in March/April, don't you?
Check back on some of the more recent message from some of these same users and you may see a hugh (dare I say it?) FLIP-FLOP on how they view McCain now.
