According to Palin's logic, the University of Illinois is also "palling around" with "terrorists."

According to the Wikipedia entry on William Ayers, "...He is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the honor of Distinguished Professor."

So, I guess the University of Illinois, its students and faculty, and all who pass through its doors are next on Palin's "terrorists" list, since Ayers is a Distinguished Professor there. (Why is Joe McCarthy coming to mind?)

Why stop at the university? Since it is located in Chicago, let's re-brand Chicago from the "Windy City" to "City of Terror."

Next stop -- why not the whole state of Illinois, since Ayers lives there. Put the whole population on the no-fly list!

2. So Mayor Daley, Ozzie Guillen and Lou Piniella are also pals with terrorists?

5. Something tells me Palin would have no problem excoriating the Dept. of Ed. there, or anywhere.

6. You know, C-SPAN showed the Republican platform calling for the abolishment of Dept. of Education.

Funny you should bring that up, as I was channel-checking one day, I came across one of the GOP meetings held to develop the Republican Platform for the general election.

A delegate at the meeting asked why she had not yet heard anything about abolishing the Department of Education. There was an uncomfortable silence as though to tip her to the fact that she wasn't supposed to bring that up while the cameras were rolling. She didn't get it, and asked another two or three times why that wasn't included in the platform. Finally, someone responded, but I don't remember what was said. That was about all I needed to know in any case about what the GOP was thinking about for its platform. The typical "tear down and destroy/privatize" mentality.

7. "are you now or have you ever been"...
That is what the republicans would like to see next.

Anyone with any remote association with "radical terrorists" publicly knee-capped

it worked so well for their ideological hero Joe McCarthy.

9. As an alumnus of the U of I, I must also be a terrorist
Interesting, because during that era I was getting people to sign petitions and denouncing violence. But that doesn't mean anything to these bozos, does it?
