Local news story (Arizona) associates Obama with Ayers
and gives Ayers history as a radical but doesn't mention when Obama knew him and that Obama was 8 when Ayers was a radical. They didn't mention McSame's association with Keating. I wrote to call them out on their biased reporting:

Tonight's coverage was biased against Sen. Obama. Specifically, the story about Gov. Palin's charges about Sen. Obama associating with terrorists. Clearly she is reaching. Your story mentioned Prof. Ayers history as a radical. Obama's contact with him came as a result of their work to better the south side community of Chicago. What disturbed me is that you failed to mention John McCain's patronage by Charles Keating of the Keating 5. There is no comparison: Sen. Obama was 8 years old when Prof. Ayers was a "radical"; Sen. McCain was 58 years old and knew what he was doing. There is a huge difference here that your story did not explore.

1. My response to this station:
John McCain has been associated with the Keating 5 scandal for many years. Yet, you don't ever associate him with that scandal, but choose to mis-align Barack Obama with Professor Ayers. Barack Obama was a very young person, 8, when Professor Ayers was a member of the Weather Underground. How can Senator Obama's actions in the 90's be associated with what happened in the 1960's?
Your coverage of this association is totally dishonest and a retraction with more than a 2 second soundbyte about your dishonesty would be appreciated. How a news department continue to report false news and get away with such dishonesty is beyond me. I'd like to see an in depth report from your staff about John McCain's heavy involvement in the Keating 5 scandal. Will you do that? Or are you in the McCain pocket and ignore anything negative about McCain?

PS. : I'd also like to see reporting about McCain's voting record as to our veterans. He has voted AGAINST veterans benefits almost 80% of the time in recent years yet no news organization will report his voting record when it pertains to veterans. Be the first!

6. Please can also write to the General Manager....

I don't live there, but still left my comment at the site.....

Why is it alright that Sarah Palin is married to a man who is associated to a U.S. Separatist party?

Ms. Palin claims that she is able to accuse Sen. Barack Obama of "palling" around with Domestic Terrorists because she read it in the New York Times. Well, I read in the New York Times (Sept 3, 2008 article by KATE ZERNIKE) that Gov. Palin is married to a confirmed member of the Alaskan Independence Party, which is a political party whose goal is to secede from the United States.

Is there a reason that Ms. Palin has the right to make vocal accusations in reference to Senator Obama's less than tenuous links by association to Mr. Ayers, when Ms. Palin is actually wedded to a man who would prefer not to see our country whole? A man who is actually stumping for the National Republican Ticket?

I find the media's lack of zeal in reporting this fact disappointingly discriminatory. I believe that this "news" should get much more attention.

Respectfully,

8. Good point...
I prefer to focus on McSame but since Miss Sarah started it, she's fair game.
