I love the move Begala made, warning the McCain people of what will happen
if they go dirty.

And his move is exactly the right one. He's issuing a firm warning without actually firing the shot. He's blunting it by saying he doesn't think McCain is a criminal or a racist, while at the same time implying that the McCain people are saying things about Barack that they know to be untrue. Obama will be in a much better position in the public consciousness on January 20 if he gets there without a thoroughgoing mudfest than if he and McNutso drag each other through the shitpit now. Yes he can beat McCain in a down-and-dirty campaign, but he is much better off not doing that. Unlike McCain, he truly does understand the difference between strategy and tactics.

I believe that is why Begala said what he did, and I applaud him for so effectively carrying the message from the Obama camp.

2. I hope it works. McLame will easily lose just on the issues; we
don't need to see the whole campaign, both sides, go negative. I hate that shit.
Now see, McLame could save money on campaign ads! Stop the negative advertising, and since he's got nothin' else, he wouldn't be spending ANY money on advertising!

4. I believe that the Obama campaign is ready and able to
tear McCain's head off and drink champagne from his skull; they just don't want to. Barack has made it very clear in every aspect of this election cycle that he can fight be whatever rules his opponent wants to adopt. If the Republican's pull the trigger they should not be surprised by the flash or the bang.

8. Right Mccainn-Palin will lose EITHER way. Its better if they lose with prudence and grace
than lose in DISGRACE....

Obama will win with a mandate to unite the country or he will win to rule OVER the defeated red states....it's their call now.

13. Yes, and it may not be so much McCain going dirty as Rove going dirty.
Rove CERTAINLY has nothing to lose going for the bottom. And furthermore, it has always worked for him in the past, so of course he will do it again.

12. I'm very glad Begala has come out with this firm warning..
Edited on Sun Oct-05-08 08:05 PM by zidzi
but no matter what mccain does and you know the desperate thing won't stop. So no matter what he does and Obama wins..Obama will want to be the Prez of all the People and he will bring our country together.

And, palin can take her puck back to Alaska and they can deal with her ..hopefully in an appropriate way.

mccain can go back to Arizona where they are working hard to get the State for Obama. I talked to an old friend tonight who lives in Phoenix and came back to New York for the week. Turns out she's been canvassing in Scotsdale, in republican enclaves, for Obama and the Congressional candidates.

She's getting paid $10.00 an hour to do it and she's 81 years old:patriot: :patriot: An inspriration for her :bounce:

which may be the whole point. We'll see if it works, either way.

That part comes next.

Since I posted the OP, the lid has blown off.

witch doctor pastor, the dumping your crippled wife who diligently waited for your return from war.... yeah, he should really think twice about engaging in a character debate!

The parallel with the Ayers accusations were obvious.
